Hi harpist mom!  Very much looking forward to meeting you, as my son is in the same place!  Are you going to Sarge's Meet and Greet?

Yes, I am planning to go. It sounds like it may be crowded though. Do you want to agree on wearing a colored scarf or something of that nature so that our group can identify each other. I have been following the 3/2/12 group, and some of those gals are wearing green scarves (or tying them to their purses) to make it easier to link up. Our group can weigh in and figure our which color would be easiest to find! I do not own any scarves right now.

I LOVE that idea!!  I admit, I don't have many scarves myself, but I am completely for the idea, and will gladly go along with whatever color the majority of the gals choose.  :)    I don't know about you, but I'm getting more excited with each day that passes.  As near as I can figure, today should be the 3-1 day, what do you figure?

The 3-1 date is logical; however, when my son called me for information related to his security clearance last week, he said that he had been in processing until around the 23rd. If that is the case, it seems as though he would still be in week 2. I factored in that teh 16th was a federal holiday and no processing (or other business) was conducted on that date. Since my son arrived there the night of the 11th, he has been there almost 3 weeks now, so, given those dates, he may still be in week 2. What do you think?

My son is also ship 11 Div 083

We are in the same "boat" - HA! Are you going to the PIR?

Yep, sure am!!  Thank goodness for the countdown on the PIR group page... saves me from writing on my desk calendar.  LOL  I see on the PIR page other moms and girlfriends are getting letters today, how cool is that?  I am going to really have to concentrate on the drive home.  I just hope it's all good news.  Let me know if you get a letter today!  GOOD LUCK!  :)

My son is also in Ship 11 Div 083. He left on january 10 to GL. I received the box on the 16th and the form letter with a short note on the 24th. I've been really worried and anxious during this time wondering and waiting. Finally today I received a letter; everything seems to be going well.  He says it's rough but he's keeping up. Sad to hear he had all his wisdom teeth removed. Hope he's ok after that! I will start planning for PIR now. I look foward to meeting you all!

What the heck?  just heard my son had his wisdom teeth out too....WTF???

wanda, Glad to hear you received a letter today. I hope your son heals quickly from the wisdom teeth extraction. My son had his wisdom teeth out a few years ago, and now I am glad he got it over with. I am crossing my fingers for a letter tomorrow!!

Hello everyone, I'm Jack's mom, he is 11/083.  I'm glad that I found you!  I got my first real letter today as well and my son also had his wisdom teeth removed.  He tells me that he is doing well, that their commanders are "hardasses" but are actually ok, generally seem to care and have great advice when they are not screaming!  LOL.  Is everyone going to graduation?    I can't wait.  :)

There is also a boot camp page on facebook and you can meet up with others on the 11/083 forum.  There is a Trivia question posted every Tuesday and whoever gets the correct answer first gets to have their child's division's picture posted with their child front and center!  Sorry, no winners yet for 11/083.....

Hi Jack's mom!  Thanks for the info on the FB page, I'm going to have to check that out.

I'm definitely going to PIR, my trip is booked and I can't wait.  I hope to meet all of you!

I received my first real letter yesterday as well, and yep, my son also had his wisdom teeth extracted.  Moonshadow, I've read that the reason they do this is so if they're out on a carrier or in a different location and they begin having problems with the teeth, they can't afford to have these complications, so they just remove any possibility beforehand.  I'll try to find where I've read this information and get you the link if you like.

Hopefully our sons all bonded while they were SIQ (sick in quarters) and are all studying hard and getting ready for the even more difficult things in the coming weeks.

Everyone take care, and keep the information coming!
