ship 2 div 091 here  pir 3/16

Looks just it's just you and me so far......

Our sons must be the only 2 in their division!  :)   And I hope that you come to Sarge's Meet and Greet.

I'm pretty much planning on it, but haven't talked to my husband yet to see which one he wants to go to.  I'd love to meet you, since we're apparently the only 090 moms.  lol   But it will mean talking my husband into driving yet another place in Chicago, which he is already freaked out about.  :)  And they say women worry....

Hey, Mary, haven't heard much from you lately, hope you are doing well.  I did find some other 03/090 mom's on RTC's FB page, will look for them and invite them here also.

Hi Jill!  My stupid computer was blocking this website for a few days and I thought the site was down.  I'm on the laptop now and everything is fine.  I'm so excited for graduaton!  My son hasn't written or called since he got there, but I've written a few times.  I hope that he's doing O.K.  He's in my thoughts and prayers daily.  I'm not looking forward to driving in Chicago either.  But I think that traffic must be better in Waukegan where we'll be.  I really hope to meet you at graduation.

Oh, I am SO happy you're back, thought you had deserted me.  lol  I know just how you feel.  I've gotten one letter, and it was a little bit of a set back for me, it was written during the first week after processing week, which is a bad week for them.  So I wrote a big encouraging letter back, hoping like everything that I managed to say the right things, ya know?  My goodness this is hard, they need boot camp / rubber rooms for mom's, I think.  Everyone says that the second letter is usually better, that they've adjusted a little more.  I do know that he passed the swim qualifications though, so that's a bright note.  And that tiny little spark of humor was still there too.  Me too, on the prayers.  God has to be sitting up there thinking "I wish she would just hush up already, I got it!"  :)  Don't be discouraged if you don't have a letter yet, my son said he didn't really know when or if he would get the chance to write again, they just don't give them the time.  He had to sacrifice 1 hour of sleep to write....I almost wish he'd gotten the hour.

My daughter's boyfriend is on ship 03 div 090. I have received one letter so far. My daughter graduated Nov 4 and is now in A school at Corry Station.

Welcome Idlegend!  Nice to meet you, and congratulations on your daughter's graduation!! That's fantastic!

Hi Ladies! I have a SR in this group from my hometown! my son-in-law went thru last year We stayed at the Navy Lodge as did many other families we went to Waukegan for the Ramanda Meet N Greet free food drinks were kinda pricey. The Navy Lodge is close to the gate for PIR One thing to remember your SR will not want to do alot of traveling let them get into comfy clothes and lay on the bed with love ones watching movies and eating food they did not get in boot camp our SR wanted a fountain coke from Steak N Shake, Our Sailor flew out the next day they only make one trip so everyone is on that bus we left to go to Midwest Airport in chicago at 2:00am to be with our Sailor going to Pennsacola, FL on a 12:00 noon flight.  That makes all the difference he is allowed to have a laptop now his cell phone.  Oh be sure to order your Ribbons from LaLa ribbon queen to wear on your shirt representing your SR ship and division and dont forget your camera!!!!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Gurnee - 10 minute drive to PIR. Nice rooms and really nice free hot breakfast. It was also 1 mile from the Gurnee Mall and Liz was happy - she wanted to buy a new cell phone, get a "real" haircut and her eyebrows waxed LOL.

The first letter I got from Liz was really a downer. She was exhausted, all her uniforms were too big, her boots were too small and there were 5 girls on her ship who were loud mouth trouble makers.

The second letter sounded like it was written by a totally different person. Her uniforms were still too big but she had a better belt. The food was good, the 5 trouble makers had been red carded out and she felt like a real badass in her new boots. LOL She was also named the education petty officer so she had some daily contact from the DIs which resulted in some positive feedback for her. She now looks back on boot camp and tells everyone that it really wasn't so bad.

Will's first letter to me was down too. He is really missing home. I hope I get something much more positive from him this week. As always - positive letters from home are the best thing for them.

Hi!  My son is alson on ship 03 division 90.  He'll be staying in GL for A school (ET rating).  I've only gotten one letter so far and no phone calls.  has anyone gotten phone calls yet?
