My daughter Katy called me from bootcamp on Feb. lst; she sounded in good spirits.  She said she would call again in about 3 weeks.  I received her form letter; no other correspondence after that.  I sure hope we hear something this weekend.  I told her to call the home phone first, and if no answer, call cell phone.  Thank you so much for your comments.

jduren, my daughter left the same day,.Already got a letter, and she did mention they"might" call sunday. So keep phone handy.

Has everyone else gotten their letters yet??  Ours was dated the 12th.In her letter she started one, then came back to finish. She also had limited stamps, etc. and had asked for some. I had already sent her some. They had not rec'd any mail yet. So be sure to send some stamps, envelopes and paper.  Praying for news for all here!!

I too have a son SR in 11/102 with PIR 03/30/2012 and no I haven't gotten a letter yet nor a phone call. I guess all in due time .I am new to all this forum stuff so please bare with me as I fumble around a bit.

dsdressel, I hope you get letter soon. I seem to get things a day earlier than others here.  No wuestion is a dumb one, we all learn from each other..Welcome, and good luck!

alismz, thanks for the addition to your prayer list. Yours to mine as well. Sometimes the "rough" times should help, and with mine, helped with realizing "she wants to come home". !!! Prayers to you and your SR!!

You will probably get one today. I have a son going to bc in June and he says he will not write-I believe him. So I will send the questionaires. Luckily daughter thats there now will write. It will come!! Or chase the mail truck down and search it!! lol

jormad, Did you get any mail yet?? If not, then maybe today!!

Well that Stinks!! He probably didnt get any stamps, or doesnt like to write.

My son leaving for BC in June told me "no way" on the letter writing.. Brat!.

I will tell my SR to give him paper, envelope and stamp. Hopefully they will get a call home tomorrow and yours will be extra long!!! Hang in there, he's doing fine and will make you proud.

Now, get out of the rain!!!

Looking at making travel arrangements to PIR and need some info.  Planning to fly in on Thursday, not sure what day to plan on returning home.  Saturday or Sunday?  And advice.

hazelnut, We have booked hotel, but will be waiting a bit to make flight. We will arrive Thurs. We Plan on going to the "meet & greet". And fly out late Sun. My SR is staying in GL, so we are able to see her all weekend. Is your staying or going to A school elsewhere? that will make a difference to you..

My SR is also staying at GL afterwards, so we will be able to see them throughout the weekend?  Wasn't real sure about that.  Because if so, I will definitely plan to stay on through until Sunday.  We booked our Hotel today as well holding up on the flight reservations as well.

from what i hear they have liberty each day til 9 0r 10 pm each night

I had forgotten to mentioned when daughter wrote, she said they got into trouble and had to IT( intensive training) for 2 hours one night for talking during "chow". I bet they dont talk now. Another dad had said they were smiling. So someone said something funny!!!
