Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My husband was shipped off to San Antonio two days after he graduated Basic
However, he was told that he could be put "on hold" for like two weeks or something. Why did they even bother sending him if he's not doing anything??? I could have spent more time with him?? If he goes to C-school will I be able to go with him? Would that be right after A-school?

They have to get them out of GL to make room for more recruits. You can visit him at A school in just a few weeks when he classes up.

Check flying in out of Houston Hobby airport on Southwest. From Houston, it is only a couple hour drive to San Antonio.
(in Texas, driving a few hours is nothing)

fab229, check on the groups I gave you for HM and you will most likely find that your husband is going through orientation while he waits to class up. He may also be able to take some of the classes that the Navy offers, such as one on budgeting. He will also be standing watch and taking care of some of the jobs that have to be done around his barracks. He will let you know about phasing up and when he is allowed to have overnight Liberty. The timeline for Phasing up begins upon arrival and is not tied to classing up. Like Brenda Sue said, they send them out to make room for new Recruits.
Being on Hold at A School offers much more freedom than being on Hold at the RTC. If he were on Hold at the RTC, he could not call you except on one of the pay phones and he would have to wait for a time since cell phones are not permitted on the RTC. While at A school, he can call you on his cell phone when he is not on duty. If I remember how it was before they changed to moving them out so soon, those on Hold at the RTC did not get to leave the RTC except on the weekend of PIR and any holiday day next to that weekend.
