My son is in this division.  Is anyone else's?

I received my form letter (but no box) and have sent out my first letter along with that great questionnaire and a SASE.  I don't think I'll get 'The Box'.  He was pretty adamant about not taking anything he didn't mind giving away.  Any word from your children?  How are you holding up?  I'm doing a lot better than I thought I would.  I still can't sleep thru the night, but I'm not crying at the drop of a hat as a was at first.

My son hates writing and reading, so I'm not sure how much I'll hear from him.  That's why I found that questionnaire perfect for him.  I'm going to look thru the other ones to send him another one later on.  Has anyone found any other cool things to include in the letters.

I thought I'd start this discussion to at least find out how the division is doing in case my son doesn't tell me much.  I think that if we all share (what we can share, of course), we'll be in the loop.  I don't know about you, but just knowing helps keep me at ease.  That's why I love this website and I check it everyday.

Hi Linsil - I apologize for not responding sooner.  Yes, he is in BC now!  What is an AD?

Jennifer - I apologize for not THANKING YOU sooner.  I did so straight to that website and become a member.  Thanks so much for the info.  You are always on top of everything.  THANK YOU!!!

an AD is an aviation machinist. it is what my fiance is in for, and after bootcamp, in aschool, they will have the choice between three differnent types of aircrafts to specialize in. I have just received a letter from my fiance, have you any such luck?

Right now mine is headed to sub school in Connecticut.   I think he will be there until the end of the year.  At least I can visit ....

My sons friend is at sub school.. He loves it!

Oh wow... I was told about 6 months so I figured he'd be back for fall semester in August.  Hmmm????  Now I'm wondering!!!

My son is in the same group.  Due to a medical emergency he was able to call.  He said most of them are coughing their heads off but they are doing well.  He also told me that they have all survived what they call "Hell Week"and that it should get easier.  An officer called me also.  He said phone calls will be allowed in about 2 weeks.

Oh Cathy... thanks for sharing.  I certainly hope your son is feeling better very soon.  I don't know what Hell Week is, but the fact they survived it is good enough for me.  I'm counting the days for that phone call in two weeks.  Again... thanks.

Oh, i hope they  get well soon!  Big weather change i am sure for most of them and stress on top of it.  I hope your son is ok!

From what I've been able to gather, Hell Week is the week they do extra PT, firefighting, gas chamber, etc.  Most of the time that happens after week 5, but I guess our boys had it this week and passed.  Way to go!!!!

Woo hoo!  It was music to my eyes to read that they all survived!  I worry so about my son ... He tried to prepare physically and mentally but I still think this is quite a shock for him.  I pray nightly that he and his mates are doing well.  I can't wait to get my first letter ... and pray that he will tell us all about his experience.  Hope to meet you all in April!

I can't wait either...Its driving me crazy...The funny thing is today i thought of something to tell my son and almost texted him...UGH! Habit i guess.  :o)
