My son is in this division.  Is anyone else's?

I received my form letter (but no box) and have sent out my first letter along with that great questionnaire and a SASE.  I don't think I'll get 'The Box'.  He was pretty adamant about not taking anything he didn't mind giving away.  Any word from your children?  How are you holding up?  I'm doing a lot better than I thought I would.  I still can't sleep thru the night, but I'm not crying at the drop of a hat as a was at first.

My son hates writing and reading, so I'm not sure how much I'll hear from him.  That's why I found that questionnaire perfect for him.  I'm going to look thru the other ones to send him another one later on.  Has anyone found any other cool things to include in the letters.

I thought I'd start this discussion to at least find out how the division is doing in case my son doesn't tell me much.  I think that if we all share (what we can share, of course), we'll be in the loop.  I don't know about you, but just knowing helps keep me at ease.  That's why I love this website and I check it everyday.

@Jennifercrazyplace - I had read this.  I was so happy I did.  This is an excellent day by day count.  Thanks for sharing.

You are welcome..i am research freak.  :o)

Good morning, Ladies!!!

I just wanted to share with you an idea.  My son really hates to read, so I created a newsletter for him.  It has a section on Words of Encouragement, where I quote things people have said to me about him.  It has a section for Tidbits, where I include one or two lines about what's happening locally, among other things.  I included a picture of our new puppy, which he hasn't met, and a joke from the Military Jokes link someone included.  If anyone wants to copy the idea, go for it!!!!  It was really fun creating it for him and I'm going to try to do one each week.  I took the opportunity to send a copy to my daughter, whose away in college as well.  Have fun with this!

What a great idea!

You are so organized.  I particularly like the idea of the words of encouragement section.  Our sons need a lot of encouraging at this particular point in time.

Thanks.  Have fun with it!  I certainly did!

Thanks so much for this info. I hope your son and all the boys are doing much better. Glad they have overcome this goal!

My grandson is in this ship and my daughter wanted me to join N4M.  And I commend all you brave ladies.  As far as" cool things to put into letters" our family has always survived on humor.  So I try to include funny quips from some of his favorite tv shows i.e" The Colbert Report" and "Jon Stewart Show".  And of course since this is an election year there is plenty of political humor from Letterman to Lewis Black.  Take of yourselves!

LOVE IT!!!  Today, i sent the new info on the Bears...

Has anyone heard from their kiddo (other than the form letter)?  Son left 2/23 so I wondered if this Sunday might be too son to call - that would be over 3 weeks.  Would love to hear from him ...

I wondered the same thing. I hoped to at least get a letter.

My son left 2/23 as well and still no word from him.  I was hoping that this past Sunday would be the first day the division had "free time" from 7 am - 1 pm (I'm referring to something I read on the boot camp forum) so that he would have time to write home.  I would love to have a letter from him later this week.  I'm keeping my cell phone with me 24/7 and even at the gym when I workout.  I don't care if he does call in the middle of a spin class, I'm answering!!

I think all us "moms" are anxious to hear from our kids.  According to what I was told by an officer,  we should hear next week.  It will be a long week.  I too am afraid to miss that precious call.  I'll be afraid to go to Church.  Since finding out my son was sick, I have been frantic.
