sjtina, Thank you as always for your great information. l got cold chills (really) just reading about the 800 Div. marching in last and the response in the room. (Good gosh, I am filling up just thinking about it). I am enormously proud of my son and ALL the young men who have dedicated their lives to do something so few even attempt. God's blessings on them all.
oldlady...you sound like someone I would love to share a pot of coffee with!! My son could not wait to meet his "new family". Maybe I should be oldlady2 but it you say that real fast it sounds like you're yodeling.(lol) I look forward to meeting you. I will look for the lady with a man in red white and blue shoes! By the way...I am NOT wearing a dress!!!!!

I talked to a friend of mine who's son graduated this past summer from bootcamp about what others wore to PIR, she said that there was everything from dresses to jeans. so I have decided to wear nice casual clothes It. will make it a lot nicer to dress in a way I am comfortable since I am planning to spend time with my son and not looking for a place to change my clothes..I am just not a big dress person, and would want to get out of it as soon as possible:) She told me that no matter what you wear others will be wearing the same.
If I may, I think you need to add "caringsweet" to the front of your name. I can tell just from your post you have given your son the foundation he needs to be one of the Navy's best. All of our sons, so it seems, it is VERY good company. Yes, "band of brothers" indeed. :) I LOVE your idea about the link chain. I too am counting the days in a way that is special to me. I myself am wearing slacks with a nice top. I do not think you need to worry about what you wear. Because the only thing people are going to notice is your heart. I too will be looking for those shoes :) I would love to give a hug and say hello to "caringsweetoldlady".
Thanks, Moms, of Division 809 for all the wonderful information and positive comments. I, too, have a son in the Division and am very proud of him and his buddies. They are doing an awesome job. We look forward to meeting you on the 30th. Is anyone staying at the Ramada in Waukegon? Would love to meet up with you if possible. Also appreciate the tips on what to wear. This was a big question of mine so may need to go shopping to find something appropriate. Another question we have: Is it better to shuttle to the graduation or get a pass and drive in? We are leaning towards the shuttle but want your feedback. Thanks!
Dress warm, its early in the morning, even if the weather is warmer later in the day. There is a line outside to check into the building. The opening of the doors do not effect the 800 div since you will be seated to the far right and the guys enter on the left. Besides its crowded in there.
Captains Cup was today for the 3/16 PIR that include Div 807 and 808. Division 807 won. hooyah. 808 is a division just like yours. Your boys will be joining them on the 30th. The beginning of Class 2 9 6.
Happy tears, I hope. It gets better. There is a private group set up for this group after PIR. You will joining 2 9 5, They are waiting to welcome all of you.
809 is calling now! So great they get the privledge of another call.....
So he filled me on on why his original form letter stated his graduation date was the 16th. Seems the RTC decided to make an experimental group that would include the Air Crew and they didn't arrive there until the following two weeks so they were holding up in wait for them. That's ok though. They are a great group of men apparently doing great things!! Yeah 809. Keep up the hard work.
Just got a call from my SR!!!!! I never thought that I would be thrilled to hear him say "I don't want to come home!!" He absolutely LOVES being there. It gives me such joy to know that he is happy. He did say that they were doing great as a division. I cannot wait to see him and meet all of ya'll!!!! GOD BLESS OUR SONS AND GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!
got a letter today, said hes ready to stop doing the folding of the clothes routine:) said he has made some good friends and that he would be willing to take a bullet for them, they are like his brothers. It makes me proud to hear him say that! I am so happy for those of you that have gotten a call today. I am hopeing to not miss this call, like a!missed his first one! cant wait to hear what your sons think, updates.... moms!!!
