For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

SHIP 07 DIV 128 - Reporting for duty!!!
My son is in this division. Is anyone else's?
I received my form letter (but no box) and have sent out my first letter along with that great questionnaire and a SASE. I don't think I'll get 'The Box'. He was pretty adamant about not taking anything he didn't mind giving away. Any word from your children? How are you holding up? I'm doing a lot better than I thought I would. I still can't sleep thru the night, but I'm not crying at the drop of a hat as a was at first.
My son hates writing and reading, so I'm not sure how much I'll hear from him. That's why I found that questionnaire perfect for him. I'm going to look thru the other ones to send him another one later on. Has anyone found any other cool things to include in the letters.
I thought I'd start this discussion to at least find out how the division is doing in case my son doesn't tell me much. I think that if we all share (what we can share, of course), we'll be in the loop. I don't know about you, but just knowing helps keep me at ease. That's why I love this website and I check it everyday.

Received our first letter from our son since he arrived at boot camp. He said "chow" was okay, not like mom's cooking. He passed his swim test; mentioned how proud I'd be of his ever improving abilities to make his bed, fold his clothes properly, and ironing skills. So funny! Also mentioned that 15 minutes for 40 recruits to shower was ridiculous. He attended chapel service Sunday morning. Most importantly of all, said for us to write everyday, "keep the letters coming", any news from home - "write anything and everyday" - was a huge help in getting through difficult days.

I am SO jealous! I hoped for a letter today as he has been gone since 2/23 (3 weeks today). I'm pretty sure my son will pass the swim test (he was a lifeguard for 2 years) but a bit concerned about those household skills! He practised some of them at home for a few weeks but I don't think he ever touched an iron before! LOL. I hope he does get to call this Sunday - I am having the entire family over for lunch to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday. Maybe we all can say hello at the same time!!!

Thanks for all the lovely comments; I am more than thrilled to have something tangible from him. I keep rereading the letter, wondering if I should be reading between the lines! He mentioned that the first inspection is Thursday; I don't know what kind of inspection, but I suspect it is uniforms. I would guess the entire division took the swim test and the entire division will be inspected? We'd better keep them in our prayers tomorrow that the inspection goes well so no extra chores or exercises are imposed. He also said two of the PO's giving orders aren't too bad.

If your son was a lifeguard for two years, I'm sure he will pass. My son is not a terrific swimmer, and he passed! However, I did attempt to teach him how to iron dress shirts - LOL. It was an epic failure; I hope the Navy has better results than I did! And, he never did make his bed to meet my standards. I'll bet he could now! Wouldn't it be a special surprise to have a phone call for your mother's birthday. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Of course! On the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command facebook page (link is below), they put out a trivia every Tuesday. The first person to respond to the trivia correctly, gets a picture of his/her son's/daughter's division posted on their page. So, we are trying to participate to see if we can get a picture of our division posted and see our boys. The more members we have participating, the better our chances of winning and getting that picture taken. Here's the link:

Will any of you be attending this 'Meet and Greet'. There's this one and one at the Ramada. I'm not sure what time my flight gets in, so I can't confirm yet. But in case you hadn't noticed this one, it would be a great place to meet.
