Are you referring to Dansdad052 and me? He is my ex....We are both very excited about Daniel.....
I have a new appreciation for the lost art of letter writing. I heard from Matt today! Yeah! He answered the BC survey that I sent and then wrote 2 pages with lots of details.
My son grew up in the age of e-communications and so much of ours was via cell phone, text, email and Facebook. I have really missed not being able to communicate with him in any fashion but then today I got his first handwritten letter in years! It was amazing. I have read and reread it about 10 times already and the written word has both made me laugh and cry. I think I’m going to like this old fashion form of communication! J
He got to BC on 2/28 but did not start processing until 3/05 as they had to wait to fill up his division 924. He got to write his first letter on 3/18 and I received it today (I only live 26 miles from RTC). He is a drummer and will be on the quads. For all you 924 moms, he shared that they will be performing at the 4/20 and 4/27 PIRs. We might get a glimpse of them on the RTC facebook page after the 4/20 PIR.
He loves the French Toast and pasta that is served and says that they were scheduled their first official inspection on 3/19.
They had their first swim test on 3/13. He made second class swim (he swam in high school so kind of expected that). J
He had no regrets and says the 924 division is awesome and he has made lots of friends. He says they can only send letters once a week (I think on Sundays) but are receiving mail as it comes in and loves the letters.
I’m hoping that all you moms out there start receiving your letters soon.
MattsMama.....How AWESOME!!!!!! Your comments brought tears to my eyes as I know that my first letter from Daniel will do the same! God Bless you and thank you for sharing your news!!!!
MattsMama-thank you so much for sharing your letter with us, I am hoping to hear from my daughter too. Just knowing he is doing well helps me be more at ease!
Calling all moms with kids on ship 02/div 924! Have you seen the cool ribbons that you can order through Navy mom Lala? I am going to order some for my family as they would be cool to wear at PIR. I can send you info if you like.
Also, has anyone decided which MNG that you will be attending on 4/26? I'm thinking about going to Sarge's but would love to hear from you all as I'd like to connect with moms from Div 924.
Let me know!
Sarge's MNG was what I was thinking too. We plan on flying in the 26 arriving around noon.
I have received news that my daughter has fractured her ankle and is in Medical. I am sure that she is dissapointed but will get to continue on when she has healed. I know that the waiting will be the hardest part for her. I want to wish you and your families all the best. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of our young recruits, that they may always stay safe! GOD BLESS!
So sad to hear your news.....May her bones mend quickly so that she can move forward! My thoughts and prayers to you and your family!!!! God Bless you, too!
