Ok all 04/809 ers.  Ya'll want to shoot for Sarge's meet and greet?  I am going to go ahead rsvp for me and my husband.  I sure hope to meet ya'll if you can make it.

Sarge's it is. I will rsvp as well.

I probably wont make it to the meet and greet, we are touring chicago that day, and knowing my girls we will be crazy shopping, and we always are late getting back, plus I have relatives only 1 hour away, that we will probably go see. It is hard to do everything in such a short time. Yes I am packing my bags as we speak!! leaving in 5 days!! Stoping in Denver to see my new graddaughter on the way, Its going to be a great week!! Maybe I will recognize Sancy by the pic here and see you at PIR and introduce myself! I wish you all a great week! hopefully We will get a least one more letter, the iced pool would have been crazy.

By the way I never did get a call. Maybe his phone card was used up, or he was on duty like the time before. I just must not be lucky with the phone calls. hopefully the I'm a salior call will come when I have reception on the road and not going over the mountain passes! but if not, at least I know I will see him in person soon! I am so greatful for all of you on this site and for the things you share, it has definitly made this transition easier!

I got a letter!!!! yeah!!!He said he was having a crazy day...dated March 15th. he said at 4:00 am they swam 4X 500's in the pool. he said this is no problem because he loves swimming!  but for some it is not as fun. then also that day they did the gas chamber, said that was crazy, eyes and lungs closed up, he said it sucked and he wanted to die! but he he lived through it, or I would not have recieved a letter. He said he is doing awesome and all the hard work is paying off. so excited to see him! I am sending my last letter today, and hope he gets it. this week can't go by fast enough:) lol...... I hope you all get letter too!!  Happy Wednesday everyone!! leaving in 4 days!!!

Oldlady, sounds like your son was super prepared for the frozen cold swimming! :)

Wow Oldlady That is wild... I love that you jumped right in there with the suggestion for rock salt!!! LOL!! Go Mom!! My son graduated with this group 04/809 but I only got to meet one other Mom. We didn't make it up there in time for the meet and greet. bummer! We do have a bond... OMama, Bless your heart!! My son only wrote us 3 and a half letters... his girlfriend got 16... so life changes! He asked me to not be jealous when he hugged her for an hour before he hugged me for an hour... In that short time after grad, neither of us got a very long hug... but later... nice! I love that he is in love but can't imagine this will be easy being far apart!

I look forward to talking with each of you.

Blessings on our Sailors!

Hi Tracy Mom.

At the top right of page there a a box that has your name.  Under that it lists sign out/in, inbox, alerts and then SETTINGS..click on that...next, under my Settings, click on privacy.    I checked everything to say "Just my friends"  At the bottom of the page it should say SAVE.

This should do it for you. Good Luck!!!!  Message me if you have a problem.

I am going to request to be your friend.

Thanks, Sancy

Hello all.. My son has a favorite poem I thought I would share as it seems very fitting. The poem is very old and written by Wm. Ernest Henley, It is called

 "Invictus"

Out of the night that covers me.

Black as the pit from pole to pole.

I thank whatever gods may be

for my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the horror of the shade.

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and will find me unafaraid.

It matters not how straight the gate.

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate.

I am the captain of my soul.

After this being his favorite for some time now, someone told him about a movie directed by Clint Eastwood, another favorite of his. (hes directed some great ones!)  Anyway, we rented it and yes it was a wonderful film. It's called Invictus and it stars Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. Worth seeing..

Have great day.  Only a couple, few days left.
