It's now down to 15 days until PIR. We get a letter once a week (on Thursday) from our son and each letter is more psoitive than the last. It sounds like the Division is doing great and the guys are all getting along. I can't wait to see him and the changes in him.
....so grateful to hear his voice this week! Hope and pray the gas chamber and battlestations goes well. Yeah! 15 days and counting to April 6th!

Praying we all get the "I'm a Sailor" Call this week!!!!
am the wife of prouddad, I had a wonderful 25 minute phone call from my SR this past Friday evening, his dad missed the call as he was at work (police officer). Today is battlestations, hoping for a call from my Sailor tomorrow. We are making our plans to head up to Great Lakes, looking forward to meeting parents who have been enduring this just like us!! Has been worth it! Proud Grandpa (retired army colonel) will be joining us to witness his grandson go through PIR! Camera is loaded for all the pictures we will be taking of all. My SR said he had professional pictures taken in his dress uniform framed and waiting for us!! Will place one on my desk at work, can't wait for all to see. Travel safe all and can't wait to meet the rest of the PROUD parents and their Sailors!!

We are going to Sarge meet and greet, hope to see you there and everyone else.
Hope you all have a good day!!
I will have my phone glued to my body even more today at work.
The "I'm a Sailor" call came at 4:00pm yesterday from my proud and exhausted son. He was very excited and anxious for the next phase of his Naval career to begin. Looking forward to the next 33 weeks at Great Lakes in A school and then off to C school for an undetermined length of time. We can't wait to see all the sailors march into the auditorium for PIR. What a proud moment it will be. Cameras are ready, reservations made and stoked to head to Great Lakes. Less than a week now! Congratulations to all...
We received a call around 4 yesterday, from a tired but proud young man, I said, "so you are a sailor now?" he said well it will be official at graduation.... not sure what he meant but he said he has passed all the tests. He was a little hoarse from all the yelling through the night. :) We were thinking of going to "Sarge's" meet and greet Thursday evening. Anyone else going? We are flying in Thursday afternoon, we haven't decided what to do with our sailor Friday night, but he did mention pizza! :)
See you all soon... I also received the form letter I found on this site somewhere for moms, letter I sent him, he filled it out, said their flag is an eagle, rattlesnake and anchor. and the hardest part of bootcamp was IT. I did have to ask him what "sharks" are. Looking forward to seeing our sailor. take care!
