Okay, I know for a fact that there are approximately 84 members of this division who have loved ones at home missing them. We are now almost at the half way mark, and yet we are not a very active group on this website. I don't understand it. I know from the few people that I have talked to, that there are some anxious moms, wives and girlfriends out there, and I can't help but think that there has to be many more who are just wondering what to do or who to talk to. So, allow me to say this......
HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! Make yourself known! Don't be shy, we are all the same boat. We miss our loved ones just like you! I am online almost every day, and I wouldn't care a bit to become friends with anyone who wants to chat, become penpals, or just maybe need some help with info. Send me a note if want to. I didn't even see a post on here recently, so I thought I would post this one to see if maybe there was any new members that might have just joined recently.
I know that my son is one of six Section Leaders, so I know that he is getting to know youryour son very well. I hope to see you all at Sarges, the night before graduation, in a little over 4 weeks. Hope to hear from some of you!

Unfortunately, we'll be driving up from Georgia on the 29th so we won't be getting in until late and I'm sure we'll be pooped. No meet and greet for us, even though I really wanted to go. He wrote the yellow ribbon memo on the outside of the envelope. It looked very rushed/last minute so I have no idea. I have blonde hair so I don't see that it could have been to spot me as it'll somewhat blend in from a distance. If you could post a picture of the ribbon, I'd love to make one similar for Austin's family and myself! Thanks again for all the great information.
Yah, Im with Veteran on this one. We both tried to get everyone to agree on a color. With no response from anyone we decided to make our own. While she is doing blue and white, I am doing blue and silver. They are easy to make, I am finding. You can also order them online from Unique Memory Makers.
I always knew that you could do it! Heck, you are probably the next Martha Stewart. lol I expect a picture now girlfriend!!!! :) I'm still working on mine. Things have been hectic around here. I may even switch and do blue and silver to match yours if I can find silver ribbon in this little town of mine.
Paula, If you want silver let me know and I can ship it to you. I dont know what time you will be checking in but we will be there by 2 probably and can bring silver with me as well. Let me know and pictures will be coming soon, I am not quite finished with them.
Thats so sweet of you Tiffany, but I went today to the next town over from me and found silver that has some wire on the edges, I think it will work. It is really shiny. LOL I also found silver anchor charms that I fell in love with, so now I'm going to use those as well. Gosh, I'm going to make several different ones, and get your opinion when I finish and you can help me decide which is best. LOL I don't know what time we will arrive because it will depend on traffic and construction along the way. Are you getting excited??? I'm glad we're staying at the same place as you. Ron isn't much of a planner, and I'm the total opposite! (I don't know how he ever made it through 20 years in the navy and not being a organizational freak like me.) The years in the navy made me get organized. He says, that's why he isn't a planner of anything any more. I hate that about him and it drives me crazy. I can't stand to be late to anything and I am a list maker. The navy taught me well. LOL
The yellow ribbon has to do with a cadence that our division says while they are marching. My husband told me about it in his first letter. I wear a yellow ribbon all the time now. I'm also planning on wearing one at PIR.
Thanks Navywife for the info. I wrote and asked my son. My other son in that was in the Air Force told me that when they were in Iraq, a lot of the wives did wore a yellow ribbon when they went to their R&R in Germany after their tour in Iraq too. (I had forgotten about that because that was when they served back when the war first started so many years ago.) Thanks again for the information! :)
Awesome, thank you! I was googling but could never find anything, thank you again Navywife.
UPDATE: By now, most of us know when battlestations is, or at least they should, and no, I'm not going to post it because we aren't suppose to. Any way, since for whatever reason, very few people decided to to get involved in deciding on colors for ribbons, so a couple of us came up with the colors of navy blue and silver, and I must say that from what I've seen, of someone's ribbons that they made themselves, they are absolutely beautiful!!! Great job! :) Now, in todays mail, my son has asked me to spread the word that all moms, girlfriends, wives, and any other females attending the graduation for Division 104, the sailors would like for you to PLEASE wear a YELLOW ribbon in your hair. I was not told why, but I was asked to spread the word as much as possible. I was told it was very very important. So, I thought that I would pass it on in this forum here, and I will also post it again alone here and on Facebook. Thanks everyone! We only have a short time left and I look forward to meeting everyone at graduation. My son has told me that he is friends with all of his fellow recruits.
Can you please send me a PM with the BS date. I need to make some arrangements to make sure we don't miss the call.
I sent her a private message with my phone number to call me and I would give her the info but no call so far. I hope she got the info from someone. I didn't get her message until last night, so I sent her a message last night. I've been really swamped over here. Hopefully she got my note last night. You know me, I won't post it on here for obvious reasons.
