Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We were going to stay there but we decided on the Marriott residence in n.My parents are flying in from Florida and my dad is handicapped, i need to be in the same room to help my mom. Bummer because I could have saved $500 ..But family first..

Hi. Just saw a Navy commercial while watching SU and Ohio St game....Go SU...we still have not gotten the 2nd call or a letter? It worries me more than husband. He said no news is good news. Even his brothers wonder why we havent heard . Anyone else from our group in the same boat as me?

I don't think it's at all unusual that you haven't gotten a phone call; from what I understand, some of them may not get to call at all until the "I'm a Sailor now" call after Battle Stations. As for the letter, it might just take a few days longer to get to you for whatever reason. I got my first letters from my boyfriend on Thursday, but his mom didn't get one until today, and he sent them at the same time. I'm sure your husband is right, you would be notified if there was anything wrong.

None of us recieved our 1st personal letters from my fiance until yesterday (sat 24) . Still no phone call either. I'm sure yours is just stuck in the mail somewhere rmb. The fiance said that the RDCs are pretty mean. One they have nicknamed the "Bulldog". But my brother (who just graduated from bootcamp last year) said that if its the same "Bulldog" he knew, he does soften up some as they get towards the end.
They've already had a couple of physical tests, and have gotten through the swim test. Sounds like a lot is focused on keeping your bunk straight and shining your boots (which have given him blisters!) All and all he seems to be doing well and still has his sense of humor.
He has mentioned that he gets along real well with his bunkmate from NC. Maybe one of you happen to be related to this guy?

We have only gotten one letter. My son was very upbeat and loving it so much. He made fun of me because I stuffed band aids in his wallet and he said he didn't need them so he passed them on. I figure week 4 we should get a call I hope. As long as they are all working together that is. I am praying very hard they are.

Got another letter today :). He sounded SO much better; I think that has a lot to do with the fact that they had just gotten their first mail when he wrote. I'm surprised it took so long to start getting to them, but I guess it's takes a while for the mail PO to be trained...

We got two letters this weekend and our SR's g/f got a letter last Thursday. We even got a phone call today. We were do excited, it only lasted a few minutes, but he did say he earned a 45min call and that he would try to call back soon. He said he got some nasty blisters but got medication for them in case of infection. It was so great to hear his voice. He must be doing something right to earn these phone calls. Our letters were short since he was on guard duty during their free time on Sunday. He said he has been enjoying getting all the mail our mother, his g/f, and I (his sister) have been sending him. He says the RDC flings the mail at them which they find funny. So keep up writing all the letters ladies, it sounds like they crave all the news from home and look forward to mail call. He wants to hear about things going on at home and what is going on in sports so our dad sent him a bunch of sports related news in his letter. This Friday we will be at the half way point, the time is going by so nicely. Hope you all get calls and letters soon too. Hooyah 132!

My SR is in another division, 131, but today he told me something pretty important that I wanted to pass on to all of you. He said many of the SRs are running out of room for their letters, so they are going to have to start throwing some away. If you can, send your SR a manila envelope with extra postage so he or she can mail you their letters back and not throw them away.
I am going to send a few so he can give others the same thing.

My son attempted a call around 5:45 CST. Not sure what happened, I heard a bunch of beeping like he was using his calling card but the call didnt go through. He then called back collect to me my cell I accepted and it disconnected. His gf call he tried calling her but she was away from her phone...so we struck out. :(

Hi Kimmy, sorry to hear you didn't get to talk to your son. We didn't have much better luck. I got to talk to my son for 30 seconds! I guess he had trouble with his phone card also, and spent his time trying to figure it out. All he really said was that he was miserable with blisters and headaches :( , oh, and that he had received one of the 5 letters I sent and one from the gf. At least I got to tell him we loved him and were proud of him and that he can make it! He also called his gf, but she missed the call, which left her in tears. He did get to leave her a message though (20 seconds!). Hopefully they will get to call again since maybe now they have figured out the dang phone cards!

Missing the first phone call week one and FINALLY getting to speak with my boy last night was AMAZING!!! I needed to hear his voice as much as he needed to hear mine.He sounded GREAT..Loves every bit of it...He has been in organized sports since age 4 so this was going to be hopefully a little easier for him...God Bless our children!!!
