Hey there! Just a place for family of SRs in Ship 09 (USS John F Kennedy) Division 146 to get together and chat, ask questions, and discuss whatever. :)  I'm new to this, so anyone who has a heads up on anything regarding the ribbons (LaLa Ribbon Queen I believe is who we need to contact) and stuff like Sarge's Meet-and-greet, feel free to enlighten the rest of us!

Curious about WHERE exactly at RTC your recruits barracks are? Check out this diagram of the RTC.

GOT THE FIRST *REAL* LETTER TODAY!!! :) So happy! Start watching those mailboxes like hawks! (keep in mind that we do live just a couple hours from GL, so it may take a day or two more for then to arrive further away).

Hubs says he's doing good, but that the division gets in trouble for chatting quite a bit. They also are just NOW starting week one of actual training. He didn't say why it was so drawn out though. Saturdays & Sundays don't count as training days, so that might have had something to do with it, plus most of them arrived in the middle of the week two weeks ago. :-/

They each get jobs and he's part of the head crew which he says sucks because they have to clean up after everyone, but they get to take their showers first. He also said something about being roving watch because his 'recruit handwriting' was so good. It is good. Very good compared it his usual scribbles, haha!

Hope you all receive your letters soon!

awww! IM SOO JEALOS ! i cant wait to here from my husband -__- but its comforting to hear that I will be hearing from him soon ! and thats funny that their division gets in trouble for chatting to much , because I know that once my husband gets comfortable he can talk ! lol ... thanks for all your help kikiotter !

I also got a real letter today!  And I also only live a couple hours away!  He sounded happy in his letter.  And he did mention that they get introuble a lot because a lot of the recruits like to talk when they arent supposed to and that they dont care.  But he did say that the RDC is really cool.  And that he can write 2-3 times a week.  I was very happy to hear from him!!

That is great, I am glad to hear such positive things coming from those letters. I have my fingers crossed for tomorrow... Wow, letter writing 2-3 times a week that is better than I thought it would be :)

My hubs said the only time they get to write is on Sundays (?) but he may just have his info mixed up. He also told me about the RDCs and that one's "laxed", one's hilarious. The funny one is "from the islands". No idea what islands he's talking about. Carribbean? Hawaiian? lol

I am so happy for you!

Hurried home from work today hoping I would have a letter from my SR today, Was sad to find nothing, oh well maybe tomorrow.
