Yea!  I received my first real letter today!  It's amazing.  Reading it, I could almost hear her voice speaking to me.  She said things are going pretty well... except a few health issues... let's see, her eyes have gotten worse, she is anemic so they are giving her supplements and vitamins and making her eat more meat..., she had a fever for 3 days and was SIQ (sick in quarters) for 1 day, was dehydrated and had to have 2 IVs - then was allergic to the adhesive on the tape and has a cream for that!  But other than that - things are fine!  When a mom is reading all that, she is thankful she didn't know about it until it was over!

Let's see, the food is amazing (coming from someone who is super picky) and they aren't allowed to eat the desserts... Except for her - she locked her knees and got faint. They thought she had low blood sugar so they gave her a cookie. Geez... Thank goodness all is well now, or I would be worried they'd send her home.  Other than the initial health issues, she sounded great, and she said she is adjusting pretty well.  She doesn't have a watch, so the hardest part is not having her phone to know the time.  They started with 107 recruits - they are now down to 85.

She said their chief is a 5'1" clone of Regina King on Miss Congeniality 2. Her closing line - "well, I need to go shine my boots now!"  I had prepared myself not to receive a letter for awhile, so this was a fabulous day!

WooHoooo! We got his letter! It sounded just like him in the room saying, you wouldn't believe this but...(quote) before I started this, I had to shine my boots and fold my underwear (tighty whiteys of course)...

He said thx for all the letters, they passed out about nine letters today and five of them were mine!

Sounds like he's adjusting very well now that the "sit and wait to hear your name phase" is over, he's ready to get down to business!

Im so happy that everyone is getting their letters. Crazy925 honestly it comforted me hearing that they only handed out nine letters bc , my husband said when he wrote on sunday that he had not recieved one from us, and I have wrotehim every day. Hopefully by now he has a big pile from us as well.

My daughter didn't say anything in her letter about receiving our letters, and I've sent atleast 12.  Gee, I hope she has time to read them if they come all at once.  :)

I am waiting by the phone . i read he would call between three and four weeks .So that has to be soon !!

Praying for our loved ones I think this week they have their first big test.

Just booked my hotel for graudation !!!!!! Feels that much closer now !!!!

which hotel to you book B daniel?  We are at Ramada Inn.

We are staying at the courtyard merriott. It looks nice.

Hey, me too!  Hope to see you there!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone...I have three girls at BC right now (only ones really mine) but her two best friends are there and considering the amount of time they spent at my house the last several years and call me mamma I claim them too.  The first one's PIR is 04-06, my daughters is 04-20 and the last one in your division 05-11.  I'm new to this whole thing just like all of you but have been around for a little while now so if you have any questions I'll try to help out.  There are also several veteran moms around that will answer just about any question you have, they are full of information and will either know the answer or try to find it for you.

Always remember "No News is Good News"  that will become your new moto!

Wow...your household must be quiet w/them at bootcamp!!!  I hope this site is as comforting for you as it is for me!!!

Im waiting by the phone. Hoping today is the day he calls.
