Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello All ~ Looking for fellow 12/148 SR's loved ones!!  Awaiting our 1st official letter from our daughter ~ received our standard form letter last week, with a short & sweet, but most imortantly positive note!! Can't wait for PIR!!

I left for bootcamp (air force) in Jan and it was hard for me and now I've been on both ends of it. def harder on my end though
My fiance is in that division. I got a call from him last Thursday he needed addresses for references for his security clearance. No letters from him yet, just checked the mail:(

My husband received a call last Tuesday too about a couple of questions ~ answers are in the mail what he couldn't give her right then!! He was so stoked!! Anxious for the mail ~ but so thankful for the unexpected phone call!!

Is your husband an IS?

No my daughter is ~ my husband received the phone call from her. 

 

are all the recruits on that ship IS?

Interesting question ~ IDK??  My guess is No ~ but I could be wrong.

Has anybody in this Group made any reservations yet? Flights are really expensive from here on east coast, jeez starting at $320.

Rainy ~ I've checked prices from Pensacola and last week they were running $420+!!  I'm going to book soon before they get any higher.  Then I'll move on to get the rental car reserved...Hotel taken care of already!!
