Hello all! It was so exciting to find this site and these forums. Looks like my sailor will be in the same division as your sailors! Please keep an update on letters received, I've gotten the formal but nothing else. However, I did hear from mine last Monday or Tuesday briefly just to make sure I submitted some paperwork to his recruiter. I was absolutely amazed at the remarkable change in his handwriting and also over the phone, he already sounded so much more GROWN. I almost didn't recognize him what so ever, lol. I completely look forward to chatting with you guys and bouncing stories, info and advice back and forth. This is already making this allot easier! Hoping for a phone call soon, so please update as you guys get them!

Thanks for telling us about that quick phone call.  It made me feel better thinking that my son would be growing and changing too.  I am really hoping for a phone call on Sunday.  Ryans birthday is Monday and it would be so great to wish him a Happy Birthday.  He has a twin sister and it will be very strange for her to not be together on their birthday.  (they actually have different birthdays  his is the 9th and hers is the 10th... midnight delivery!)    We always celebrated both days, and they have always been together.   Did you all see the facebook pictures of recruits doing sit ups and running.  I dont think it was our guys but it was great just to see "inside" the RTC.

Keep your fingers crossed, we may run into our guys on FB in the pictures soon! It seems like they are keeping those updated more than they used to, so hope is in our favor!! As challenging as this all is for us missing our sailors, it is so exciting as well. The more that I search this site and the forums here, the more comforted I feel in all my questions being answered. Also since I've practically moved in on this site, I'm able to now focus more on all the exciting things that are come instead of solely focusing on missing him. As always, keep updating with news!!

I received a letter today!!! My buddy said it's harder than he ever imagined. They have a former Seal in charge. He only had 2 minutes per letter but will be able to write a longer one on Sunday. I am crying but so happy too. Hope everyone else gets a letter. Patty

I did too and literally ran all the way into the house clutching his letter to my heart! Sooooooooo exciting and heart melting at the same time! Hope everyone else gets their letters today too! I'm still on cloud nine and can hardly sit still! All smiles here!!!!!!

Got my letter today!!! Oh Happy Day!!! I read it and read it then called to read it to others. His sister got a letter today to! Says he is having fun but it gets serious. Glad to hear that he is making it!! I know a letter doesn't have sound but he sure sounded great!

Anna, how was the phone call from your SR?

Sorry guys for being MIA over the weekend, it was super busy and hectic here and Alabama with it being a holiday weekend. Trevor's mom, the phone call was very brief and I believe my SR was only able to make his call because I miscarried our baby and I had wrote him about it preciously. When he called I asked him how he was calling because he called form a US Government number and I was worried he was calling to say that he was coming home. He said at that point that the chief brought him into his office to let him call me. When he didn't mention the entire group making calls and the fact that he wasn't calling from the phone center (where they generally use the phones to call home), it occurred to me that maybe they allowed him to call home since it was sort of a medical emergency on my part. Also I asked what official week they were on because In Processing days are dead days that do not count as their training. He informed me that on Friday, they were only on WEEK 2 Day 2, so they haven't officially been in BC training for the three weeks when they generally are allowed to call. I hope that brings hope to those who haven't heard from their SR's. He said that he’d been getting mail all through the week. Also I’ve read the forum about what they are doing day by day and it’s helped me in terms of feeling like I’m on the same page as my recruit by Knowing what’s going on daily with him as well as it’s helped me know what questions to ask. I also sent him a questionnaire from this site that also wraps up allot of questions to ask and gives him a good baseline to be able to answer them all in a more timely manner, so that may also help. Keep those chins up and the faith that you will soon talk to your recruit. And remember those letters are golden :)
