Hey there! Just a place for family of SRs in Ship 09 (USS John F Kennedy) Division 146 to get together and chat, ask questions, and discuss whatever. :)  I'm new to this, so anyone who has a heads up on anything regarding the ribbons (LaLa Ribbon Queen I believe is who we need to contact) and stuff like Sarge's Meet-and-greet, feel free to enlighten the rest of us!

Curious about WHERE exactly at RTC your recruits barracks are? Check out this diagram of the RTC.

Yay! glad you all got your call today. My daughter in law called and said they got to talk for 12 minutes..i agree with jeaniebeanie..now let's all go to a nearby mall and get some fresh air..lol..Have a blessed day everyone!

Got the call as well! He said they started out with 60 mins, but because the guys "just won't shut up" they kept getting time taken off. But they regained some back with having decent scores on the test. They got back up to 22 mins, but then because a few of them got "hits" they lost some of the minutes. He sounded good. Said he feels fat because it seems all they do is stand at attention and go to chow. Not much PT so far (then again, he had a couple SIQ & LD days for wisdom teeth). When they got the 5 minute warning he said "well, guess it's time to start wrapping up." and he started to say something, but then the call cut off. :'( Don't know if it was my phone or his. Maybe the phone card ran out of minutes or something? He said he bought another one because the one he took with him and used the day he got up there said it only had 30 mins on it. Pretty sure it was like a 100 min card or something. :(  Oh well. Nothing we can do about it. Just keep writing the letters. He said they get them every day.

And yes, some do talk about this site. Cant remember names exactly of who all asked. I know he mentioned on from FL that's 25 and has a daughter (i think), from Pensacola. And a couple from Michigan (like us). That any of you?

My husband said almost the exact same thing! But I got to talk to him for 20 min even!  It was great!  And we are from Michigan. : )

Oh that's right! I remember you saying that now, lol! (back on like page 2 now i think?)

I got a call as well!  A great day!  He sounded really good spirits.  He said that it was hard to get to sleep because some people wouldn't stop talking, but that others were complaining because he snores.  Quiet while he's awake but noisy in his sleep!  He said his job is to clean the floors, which suited him just fine because it was low stress.  He said he thought a lot of the other jobs, like mailroom guy, were harder and more stressful.  I'm sure right now he is extremely grateful to his mom for teaching him to clean while he was living at home, lol, yeah, right!!  We talked for 11 minutes, it was great.

Yeah, my hubs is on head crew. lol he doesn't care for the idea of cleaning up everyone else's mess. Now he knows how I feel! lol

If it is a last name you will have to remove it please. No last names of Recruits/Sailors on the N4M website as per the Community Guidelines/OPSEC.

Sorry! Deleted it anyway! Dont want to offend anyone! : )

Doubt it offended anyone. Just a safety precaution. :)

Yeah I didn't even realize that until after .. my bad!

During my son`s call yesterday he said they got their dress whites this week, He said he looks really good in them. If he could toot his own horn for a minute. Can`t wait for those pictures.

In just 4 more weeks we will receive the "I'm a Sailor" call ... :) I'm so happy
