Boot Camp Mom's Prayer

God bless my recruit as he meets this day

I pray that he has the strength to find his way

As reveley wakes him so loud and clear

I pray your love will lead him, and he will show no fear

If there's danger and if there's strife

Please send Angels to guard his life

Keep him safe and hold him near

Bless my recruit, I hold him dear

Until he moves on to PIR day

Bring peace to our hearts

And strength to our faith

(Many thanks to our own 'teeny' for sharing!)

The form letter you received should have a password to use when printing out the pass. There is a date that they are available for printing.

Hi ladies!  My son is also in this group.  I read briefly through the discussion thread and have already learned more new things.  I'm thinking we may not get personal letters for another week, since this coming Sunday would be just over two weeks for them.  My son is not much of a writer, but I hope getting letters or cards from me every other day will prompt him to write.

Looking forward to PIR, but I'd better get on the move on making reservations!  Working on the hotel tonight, so if anyone has helpful hints on those please let me know!

maybe we will get a call since it is Easter sunday.  We can only hope.   Thanks for the info about parking passes  sjtina.  I cant wait to meet everyone on PIR.   Are you guys going to go to meet and greet with sarge?

I got my first real letter today!! YAY!! I was so excited to see this in my mailbox that I couldn't hardly wait to get the envelope open. :) I'm betting ya'll will be getting mail very soon if you've not already. :) He didn't say too much other than he missed home, it was a tougher than he thought it would be and that he would be writing a lot more when he had the time.

I got a letter today!!!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!

He sounds really good. He wrote us a two page letter. He had a lot to say which is odd for him. He said it is much harder then he ever thougt it would be and all the RDCs do is scream at them and make them feel like sh..  He also said it's the RDCs job to (in his words) DESTROY US. He missed receiving $2000.00 by 5 seconds on his swim. Bummer for him. He added a special note to me saying I would be proud because they make them do an evening prayer along with the sailors creed, national anthem, and the pledge of allegiance. I can tell by his letter there are huge changes in him already. My son is no longer the same kid I hugged goodby to March 21st. Our babies are growing up over night ladies!

I pray you all get a letter today!!!!

And Teeny I'm with you I'm praying since it is Easter we all get a call from our guys!

Take care and God bless

I just joined this group today and predicted I wouldn't get a letter until next week, but I was thrilled to find one in my mailbox when I got home today!  I seem to get my mail from Great Lakes pretty fast, so I'm hopeful everyone will hear from their sons soon. My son was never much on reading the news, but he asked me to write back and tell him what's going on since they get "no news from the outside world".

You're right they don't get any news from outside world. One of my SR's buddies is printing off facebook pages and sending them as letters.   I thought that was a good idea to help keep our SR feeling connected while their in boot camp.

YEAH.....I got my first letter today too!   I'm traveling this week, so I heard the letter over the phone.  Didn't matter how I heard from him just to know he's OK is good enough.   The letter was short he said he had "watch" the night before and was tired.  He reminded me of his address which makes me think he hasn't received any mail from home yet.  At least three family members wrote the day we got their address.   That pinches a little but I'm not going to dwell on anything but the fact that he's OK and says things are going well.

My letter mentions that P-days (extensive phyical exams) are over and regular Boot Camp started this week.  I'm just so excited to hear from him and know he's happy with the path he choosen.

Happy Thoughts going out tonight that all of the Mom's in DIV 813 will be receiving that first note confirming your sons are doing well.   Easter weekend always brings blessings and maybe phone calls!

NavyBlue,

I think our first letters to them didn't reach them until after the Sunday morning when they were allowed to write.  From what my son said in his letter it sounded to me too like he hadn't received anything yet.

Hi AuburnMom -I'm ginal70 with a son in ship 04 div 813.  I received my letter today ! YAY!! I am so proud of him (as we all are of our kids) and it's awesome to have a group to connect with ...oh my..thank you.  I'm new, making my way around this site - which is also awesome.  Hope to catch up with everyone soon. I am sure I will have many questions ...take care and talk soon.

Hi gina170-- nice to (virtually) meet you. :)

It will be so nice to finally put names and faces together at PIR. It's nice knowing that our boys-- and the group of us-- will stick together pretty much throughout the process. I think someone said at least until they go to 'A' School in Coronado-- is that right?.

Are you from Auburn NY? My son left with a fella from Auburn NY that was on same contract.
