Hey there! Just a place for family of SRs in Ship 09 (USS John F Kennedy) Division 146 to get together and chat, ask questions, and discuss whatever. :)  I'm new to this, so anyone who has a heads up on anything regarding the ribbons (LaLa Ribbon Queen I believe is who we need to contact) and stuff like Sarge's Meet-and-greet, feel free to enlighten the rest of us!

Curious about WHERE exactly at RTC your recruits barracks are? Check out this diagram of the RTC.

My son is also in this ship/division. We can't wait for graduation! We are so excited to see him. We are from Chino, CA. Anyone else nearby?

Welcome kupc8ke! Glad to have ya! only 4 weeks to go!

hello and welcome kupc8ke. we are from Long Beach, Ca.

@ kupc8ke, we are from NH, a long way from CA.  What is Chino near?  We go to the Eureka area once a year or so, and last summer went to San Fran, my first time there.  My son will go to Monteray CA after he finishes boot camp, so I'm sure we will want to go to CA as often as possible!

Does anyone know if we can videotape PIR, or buy a video of it?  Or know anything about buying pictures?  My brother went through boot camp 30 years ago, my parents weren't able to attend, and he was disappointed.  I would love to have he and my parents sit down together and watch my son's graduation video.  I'll bet some things are still the same, I would like to bring back as much of the experience as I can for them.

I know you can buy a video but Im not sure how and I believe that the pictures are ordered during basic if they want them! But not sure!

SRs can order DVDs of PIR when they order pics. DVDs, pictures, & yearbook (this is last chance to order the yearbook) can also be ordered at the NEX immediately following the ceremony. See this link for more details: http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir-05112012/forum/topics/photo-ke...

That is a lot of information!  Thanks! I already sent my hubby a letter telling him that he needs to order pictures because I want them! lol

Feeling kinda lonely on my anniversary day! Just hoping that those 4 weeks go fast!

Happy Anniversary!  And I don't know about anyone else but the first 4 weeks went by fast, so Im hoping that the last 4 weeks goes by even faster! : )

Thank you Sharon, yes I feel the same way... And I hope they go more and more faster!! I just want to close my eyes and there u go may 8 that is when I'm going to GL. I wish haha

Happy Anniversary Joann..four more weeks to go..Yay!!
