Boot Camp Mom's Prayer

God bless my recruit as he meets this day

I pray that he has the strength to find his way

As reveley wakes him so loud and clear

I pray your love will lead him, and he will show no fear

If there's danger and if there's strife

Please send Angels to guard his life

Keep him safe and hold him near

Bless my recruit, I hold him dear

Until he moves on to PIR day

Bring peace to our hearts

And strength to our faith

(Many thanks to our own 'teeny' for sharing!)

(_l_)  (_/_) (_l_) (_\_)   just in cse you guys are wondering   that is my HAPPY  Dance  I got a letter today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY teeny!!!! :) I am so happy for you!!

Hello my husband is on ship 04 DIV 813. I received a 3 page letter on Wednesday and was over the moon! I will see you all at PIR! 5/18 can't come soon enough! What hotels are you all staying at?

i am staying at the navy lodge

Oh wow, my son is ship 4 div 813.  However, I have heard very little.  Is there anything you can share about the unit and how things are going, either on here or in a private message.  I am currently registered to stay at La quinta hotel about 8 miles away, but am trying to change it to something closer. Where are you staying? When do you arrive? We arrive Thurs evening around 9.  So I think we will miss the gatherings that are going on, but I would love to meet up with people if anyone is meeting up after those anywhere.

Its nice to connect with someone from same division. Take Care.

My fiancé is on SHIP 4 DIV 813 and I received two letters from him on Wednesday.
It made me the happiest I've been so far :)
Other mom's/wives with SR's with the same PIR date have gotten their phone calls
so I hope that means we will be getting ours sometime soon! (though it is given by privilage,
there is still hope that it could be sometime soon! :) )
But regardless, I'm excited that we can be looking forward to letters every week. It makes it all so much easier!

Prayers are going to them from NJ as well through my church!!!

Hi All...I just wanted you all to know about an Amazing thing. Calls for Recruits.org is giving away FREE Pre-paid Calling cards for Recruits in Boot camp.  Visit the site, and send an email requesting Phone Cards and send them off to your Recruits! Have a great day!!

A Miracle for Easter.....I flew into Norfolk Friday morning and meet my hubby for lunch.  Looking up at the TV in the corner I saw flames on the screen.  The news ribbon made my heart stop...F-18 pilot crashes while leaving Oceana airfield.  Unfortunately, the area around Oceana/Damn Neck Naval bases has become very populated.  New pilots and pilots waiting for their next assignments train at Oceana.

Here's the miracle.  12:05 PM EST the pilots ejected and the aircraft crashed into an apartment building with mostly senior citizens.  No one was critically injured!  The pilots landed in backyards near by and most of the apartment residents had left for lunch.   The first thing the young pilot said to the neighbor who came out to help him "I'm sorry I crashed into your house".   That's when I lost it.  The young pilot wasn't concerned for himself sitting in an ejection seat but apologizing for an aircraft that had malfunctioned.  This young sailor's attitude and concern for others is a testament to the caliber of people our sons are joining.

The Virginia Pilot has more details if you're interested.

Easter does bring blessings and this year a miracle too!   Thank you everyone who lifts up our sons, continue to pray for their strength and resolve as they grow into men of distinction.

NavyBlue

My son's address was still Ohio street also.

I have also been hoping for a phone call. I've been keeping my phone near me 24/7 (just like a teenager).I was trying to remember the disturbing 11:30 pm phone call I received when my son arrived at RTC. Didn't they say a phone call in 3 weeks?? I' m ready to hear his voice!!!!!

Praise God no one was hurt to badly in that crash!

Navyblue..... My sons letter came from Ohio street same as what the form letter said. ????????

I know it's a little after midnight on sunday but I pray you all had a Blessed Easter

Wow took me awhile to catch up. You have been extremely chatty lol

Just got back from Vegas, so I have been MIA for a bit. Glad everyone is getting letters, they should get more upbeat. I think the first couples of weeks are tougher since they are still trying to get it together as a team.

My son is stationed in Oceana and he text me the news of the jet crash. I caught it on the news later on, it really was an miracle.
