I am so sorry to hear that. I lost 2 before God gave me my sweet son. We are all in this together and I like so many can't explain how this site helps me through every day. Thanks all

So Sorry about your loss, that is especially hard with him away.  Thanks for sharing the news that they have been receiving our letters.  I was wondering about that.  Also the fact that Friday was only Week 2 Day 2 . That surpirsed me given how long he has been gone.  Is a millitary "week" seven days?  Today would still only be Week 2 Day 5...   Oh and Happy Birthday to my SR!  Your twin sister and I are thinking about you, praying for you and cheering you on back home!

Thanks guys for the support, it has been super hard to deal with especially with him gone. I'd been so worried about his morale upon finding out the news, but he sounded very strong and hopeful for things to work out better in our future which made this easier. According to the DEP website, the former recruit who posted the day by day said their weeks consisted of 5 days. So yes, I think today would be counted as day 5 of week 2. Also my recruit hadn't gotten my letters yet when he sent out my first letter, so their letters home will start sounding A LOT different now that they are a little further out in their training and have now started getting our encouraging letters! Hearing that was a huge bonus.

Thinking of you and your SR...am so sorry for your loss...loss of the hopes and dreams you both had for this baby. My prayers are with you.

Hello everyone! So excited to be a part of this group and thanks to Patty for getting me connected! My son is Tommy, Ship 04/Div 151. I miss him like crazy, but I'm so proud of him and this path he has chosen. I am so thankful for a way to get support and encouragement from other's in the same boat, lol! Hope everyone is doing well!   Kathy

I got a letter today!!! I've only had it about 15 min and I've read it over a thousand times. I miss that boy so much. I also think one of the random pictures posted on the Navy RTC site might be of division 151. One of the recruits looks like my son, but it's kind of a distant view so I'm not positive. If any of you check it out, let me know if you see your son/daughter in it! Hope everyone is having a good day!

That's great Kathy, no letter here but last week it came on Thursday. Are you tslking about the Facebook site of RTC that you saw the photo?

The picture of the recruits doing sit ups. I think he's the guy in the front row 8 over with the BC glasses on. Do you see your son?

Sorry, yes I meant the Facebook page for RTC.

Yes on the FB page and which picture?

Yes, the face book page. The picture of the recruits doing the sit ups. Am I right? I hope so!

Well ladies, be on the look out for a phone call!!! My sailor just called and we were able to talk for 30 whole minutes!! Too stoked to really go into detail but will post back after I run around my house and jump for joy ! :)
