Awesome...very happy for you!!!! Is your sailor's PIR on 5/11? We are still waiting for our first personal call...maybe tomorrow...I can't wait!!
I'm glad you were able to hear his voice, and I'm sure your voice is still resonating in his head!!! I'm hearing my daughter's voice!!!... but only on an answering machine...We missed her call!!!! We were out of state, and when I heard from my son that she called...it felt like I was sucker-punched in the stomach. Thankfully, when we got home, there were two very long letters in our mailbox, and her voice on the answering machine. She gave us great insight on what fills her days and nights. She mentioned she probably won't be able to call for another 3 weeks or so. She sounds good, says letters are what keeps her sane. She's been chosen to be athletic leader, and ship staff crew...extremely proud of her! Looking forward to meeting all of the families on 5/10 at Sarge's Meet and Greet! Only 34 more days...Hooray!!!
I got my phone call and letter from my husband in div 143 last wednesday. I am waiting for some more. We are half way through it.
My daughter is in this division. She mentioned they are getting to write a bit on Tues. and Thurs. as well as Sunday. I received my 4th letter today. I missed her call last week! :(
Yes, half way through...Yippee!!!!
So far I've gotten three letters and one (very) short call from my son Ryan. I enjoy them all. Looking forward to his pass in review. Last time, I was on the marching side of the ceremony and my family couldn't make it. Has anyone planned a Div 143 get together for the night before, after, etc. New here and haven't seen anything yet. I'm staying at the Marriot in Waukegan.
GiteeupGo, I think many people are planning to attend Sarge's Meet and Greet. That is what our family will be doing. We are staying at Courtyard (by Marriott) in Wakegan. I don't post much out here but sure enjoy reading everyone's posts. I'm sure looking forward to meeting everyone at the Meet and Greet.
Where is Sarge's meet n greet? I too am staying at the Courtyard in Waukegan.
Sounds like a great plan to me!
We could absolutely do that if they have a place to meet n eat. I RSVP'd to attend Sarge's meet n greet at the Sundance Saloon, but could forego that if enough 143 people want to meet somewhere else. Some are staying at Ramada and I'm sure some are staying other places also.
