Hi everyone,

I have an idea in mind for a really cool book,  as you can tell by my nickname I am an artist and I decided I'm going to do a series of paintings on the whole boot camp experience.  RTC has kindly allowed me to use their photos as reference for this, so here are my first 2.  the firefighting one isnt quite done.

When I'm done with 20 or so, I'm going to publish them in a book on Blurb for my SR......What I'd like to do is insert quotes or images of actual letters that perhaps mention the aspect of training I have painted or just some of the funny things they say or even the touching things....Please message me if you are willing to share an excerpt, scan, or photo of your letters.....Once it is published it will be viewable in it's entirety for everyone online....so obviously for security purposes the real names will be blurred or omitted.

and If anyone has a cool book title idea, let me know....all I can think of is Letters from Boot Camp and that sounds boring to me.

maybe Letters to Mom?

anyway, let me know what you think!

I have another suggestion for a title for the book.  "From Civilian to Sailor- Stories from the Inside"  or "Dear Mom -  Bootcamp in Thier Own Words"

My SR send us a letter telling us that she is glad that she made this move and that before the Navy she had no direction and now she has a promising future with endless opportunities plus alot more that I would be willing to share for this book.  I cried the whole letter, I wasn't sad just very, very proud of her.

I think the book is a great idea and it will be hard to choose a title for the boot camp book. I love the idea for the cook book too, I do have a suggestion for a title to that one..."I miss your homemade..." That is the one thing I heard from my SR, even though I only have one letter so far.  He said "I miss your homemade spagetti". I'm sure a lot of mom's get this sort of comment in the letters from their sons/daughters.  I know I wrote things like that to my mom when I was in the USAF too.  Nothing is like momma's home cookin'

Keep up the beautiful and inspiring work.

How about from Sea to Shining Sea .... Box to PIR to Sailor

Just ran across this.  Sounds great.  My SR left this week Thursday morning and I got my I'm here call around midnight.  I waited up expecting to hear from him.  I didn't want to sleep through the phone ringing.  If I get anything for you before you finish I will send it to you.  We anticipate his PIR to be end of June/ beginning of July.
