what is Marlinspike? Where do you find out what the schedule for them is kind of like? I was reading ya'lls posts but until I rec'd a letter I didn't post much. It's just very nice to be able to talk to everyone. My son said he had his wisdom teeth pulled and spent two days in sick bay. He was pretty swollen and he said they pulled one and it was'nt dead yet. Hurt reaalllly bad he said..

You can find out everything they are studying/doing and when via this link:

So are you all being "good" and not putting things on the outside of the envelopes? I've been warned not to do this, along with not sending clippings, cartoons, articles, etc. in the letters. I want to send him funny post cards but fear he'll be given grief for them.

I don't do Facebook, so if someone could be on the look out for a 6'5" skinny mini that one might be mine*. Unlike many his goal was to put on weight before boot camp and like all the rest, wants to try and hide among the masses and not have special attention.

* That's why I have been forbidden to send post cards. But the last week.... the gloves are off and my "sweetiekins" will get pink scented letters from all the girls, aunts etc. He will try and be invisible until then. Hard to do when you're that tall.

Haven't been feeling well...haven't been on here lately... just a short update: T.L. had to be put to sleep and have 8 teeth cut out !!! So, he was SIQed Monday and Tuesday...then on LLD..my poor son has been in pain...but I got a7 page letter from him yesterday ! He seems to be coping OK..he says they are coming together more now...but he is seeing many getting set back :( he says he hopes he don't get set back...he really is putting his all in it...he says he's thankful for all the prayers :-) he said that he has met so many people, from many different places...and they're cool...he was happy to report he got his dog tags, lol...and fitted in their dress blues and whites,! lol...overall,he sounds happy! Well, I will try to check back in later...have a blessed day.

John Walkers Mom, Thank You for the hyperlink. I am checking it out...

Hi Everyone!  Just finishing up another letter to my SR.  Have to check the mail, we were out of town yesterday, so never got to check the mail.  Hoping there's a letter there for us!  Daughter said no mail for her.  She's still trying to figure out if she can get the time to fly in for his PIR.  He would be Sooo surprised.  Hopefully it will all work out!  Have a great day!

No mail for me either...I hope I get one soon even if its just a short one. maybe tomorrow we will get some mail!!!

WooHoo - Got a letter today.  Actually I got a questionaire returned and a letter written.  He loved the questionaire and I got some questions answered!  And he says he's doing well and hopes hell week won't be too bad.  Sounds like he has settled in but I guess they had IT the day before he wrote and said it was due to people not listening and following instructions and after IT ALL afternoon - the same people screwed them up again!  He said 3 people from his group got asmo'd for medical reasons and they got 3 asmo'd from a previous group added to their divisions.  He did say most of the team is pretty tight, just those few......I'm a happy mama now!

Thanks for sharing the information your SR wrote!  I wish the people that weren't listening would stop because it is making it more difficult than it needs to be.  Thank goodness they only have 3 weeks and 1 day left!  What does asmo'd mean?

held back (I think to another PIR date) but a "veteran" mom would have to clarify that.

Ah, I figured it was something like that.  The last time I spoke to my son, he said that about 8 guys had been sent home or held back, but that was a week ago.  I sent you a private message and look forward to hearing back from you.

I got a letter from my SR today also! His letter was dated the 22nd. He said time is really going by fast. He sounded really good. He said they are practicing marching for graduation. They were also getting ready for an inspection and that this week is going to be really busy, so may not have much chance for long letter this week. I love getting mail from him even if its a short one. Missing him so much, can't wait for 5/18/2012 !!!!!
