Boot Camp Mom's Prayer

God bless my recruit as he meets this day

I pray that he has the strength to find his way

As reveley wakes him so loud and clear

I pray your love will lead him, and he will show no fear

If there's danger and if there's strife

Please send Angels to guard his life

Keep him safe and hold him near

Bless my recruit, I hold him dear

Until he moves on to PIR day

Bring peace to our hearts

And strength to our faith

(Many thanks to our own 'teeny' for sharing!)

Cait J I was thinking today that this week has flown by. It seems like my SR has been gone FOREVER but I can't believe only three weeks till PIR. I'm SO excited!

I write to my Sr every night as well. I freaked out at my husband the other night because he forgot to mail his letter. Same thing I don't want him to go a day without getting a little something to carry him thru.

I just couldn't imagine being so deprived from my loved ones you know? And it eases my mind having him still apart of my everyday just as much, no less than before. And I know it's comforting for him to get letters everyday. Some days I doodle in mine little silly pictures (as best I can draw) or like today I added some microbio notecards I didn't need to study to show him what he's not missing ;) cause the past 3 letters have had to do with my upcoming tests/finals. But yes I am always racing to the mailbox down the road 2 mins in time to mail my letters or strategically managing dropping them off before work or after class. My dad's like can't you just mail it tomorrow? And I'm like NO!!! It has to go today! So I am right there with you Myty! :) I'm finally allowing myself to start getting excited (not too much so I don't sleep!) :) 3 WEEKS ladies!!!! Can't wait to meet ya'll!

Cait J-  I have to tell you , I am , and always have been sooooo terrible with getting to the post office or card store or having a stamp. But the day he went in I started with this card site that my friend told me about, and I couldnt have been happier. It allows me to go online, upload photos that they turn into cards, i type my own messages, and they are sent thru the us mail w stamp.  I do a few at a time so that each day one is sent.  He loves getting photos of our family or our home on the front.  It ends up being a load cheaper too.  I use it for everything now, and you can include gift cards eventually to all kinds of places once they leave basic.  Its invaluable to me.  Of course, he hasn't sent me any in return-lol. Its sendout cards.com  if you want more info let me know. you can try one out for free.  Good quality too. you can try it our under my code 144388. let me know if you like it.

Nancy

Thank you so much Nancy for the offer! I just write and print out my own, it gives me something to do :) But I'm sure he loves every one! We're all so busy- Chicago will be the best vacation :)

does anyone know about the fb page.  What is it?

The Facebook page you are looking for is U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command

Cait J this really must be difficult for you. My SR is my son and he is supposed to spread his wings and fly. He's not meant to be by my side for the rest of my life. Yours on the other hand (not sure if your married, engaged,or dating) are sharing your life together. That's a whole diffrent can of worms! God Bless Ya!

Myty, not too bad I don't mind it. I have something to do everyday! :) I let him know how many more days he has left and to not get impatient, he's made it this far he's just got to push through a little more. We're dating and I have the same SR as SWCC'EM :) Recieved 2 letters yesterday, both 2 pages long! One was one of the sweetest letters by far and had me tearing up and smiling the whole time! He definitely enjoys the encouragement, love and motivation :) He motivates me to do good in school as well. One test down, one final to go! But it's really not a can of worms, it's an adventure I'm slowly learning the ropes of. He's a man I am proud of to call mine! :) I'm excited to meet you at meet and greets!

I know there is that one on fb  but didnt know if there was one specific for ship  04 division 813.  thanks

My son is on that ship. I haven't heard much from him since his one call a few weeks ago.  I am super psyched about the PIR on the 18th.  Yesterday I found the dress I'm planning on wearing.  I am counting down the days now! Look forward to meeting some of the moms that are on here.

Nancy

nhwhitney  i get a letter every week from my sr.  his girlfriend gets one or two.  he has never been a writer but it has changed since he has been there.
