Got a letter today. My son is still fighting respiratory infection and that's about all he wrote. Not much of a communicator except for asking me to bring his gym bag and phone to PIR So thank you for all the collective information
Prayers are going out to you for comfort and your sons' healing* 2 weeks and 1 day and you will be able to give him a big bear hug!!!

@ Stacy, I'm sorry your son is sick.  With over 80 recruits there, I guess it's hard to get healthy.  My son too was sick.  He was sick to his stomach really bad and also very congested.  He said he had to get IV fluid because he was so dehydrated.  They don't have mom to make it all better!  Hope your son feels tip top really soon!

@ Stacy / Mamaroo --- keeping your sons in prayer and for speedy recovery!

thank you all so much for your support and prayers for my son and all the others.  I do hope they get better here shortly!  God knows they need rest to get better and 3.5 hrs a night is just not doing it.

Hello Ladies received 2 letters today and wanted to share ......

He broke down his daily schedule. Typical days here are as follows: We wake up at 0330 to shave, we get the compartment on spot and get ready for DIVE MO (Dive Motivation) We leave our ship at 0450 cause it takes us 30min to march to the combat pool (Which is HUGE)! Dive Mo starts at 0535 and they last about 1 ½ to 2 hours. And it alternates everyday between swimming and running.

After Dive Mo we have chow at 0730 then we will do a lesson that the RDCs have planned. Then hygiene, then after that we have chow again at 1100 then we go to another class or they will give us study time in our compartment. After that we go to Freedom Hall for our regular PT for about an hour and for the rest of the day we have more classes and do some marching around the base for practice then chow. The mail gets passed out then we tap out (lights out)

He is doing great, they are relaxing at the moment they just finished zone inspections ( they check the entire compartment) they did well…they had their WTI (weapons Turn over Inspections) he did great. They had Live fire qualifications..(he did awesome) they received all their dress uniform back from getting tailored. They will be taking class pics this week in dress whites. They are having Drill inspections and Tests this Tuesday (which was yesterday)

Loving the weather he said it’s windy so nice and cool . They had a rain storm the other day.

He said he has done so many pushups that he can’t count that high….lol

They get about 15-20mins for chow

I had asked him:  What did you do to get busted or I.T.?    scratched my nose while standing in attention

I asked if he is sleeping well? Im so exhausted that I am asleep before my head hits the pillow.

I cant wait to go .... not counting today ... we are 12 days away until we leave to PIR .....so freaking excited !!!

I hope you guys have received your letters as well ...... so proud of the them all !!

HOOYAH  812 !!!!

Much like everyone else, I am counting down! I have not received a phone call 2weeks in a row, has anyone from ship/04 -div 812 heard from their SR? So pump and ready to see my baby boy : )

Good morning Ladies,

Getting a bit antsy!!!  No call as of yet. In his last letter 2 wks ags, he asked for his watch to be shipped to him. Wonder if he ever received it or if they locked it up.Anyone staying at the Quality Inn?

Stacy,  My prayers are with your son that he get better.  My son was sick a few weeks ago with an ear infection. Said he was really sick and lost some weight and that now is is feeling better. He said there are germs from all over the country...lol

Hi Navy Moms,

We heard from my son yesterday.  He also said he the whole division is working hard and everyone is very tired.  Thanks Jaimers for sharing your son's information.  My son told me a lot of the same, he also said they had earned their first flag!!  He told me one recruit got a perfect score on his Weapons Inspection (I think), which my son said is rare.  He said letter writing the next three weeks will probably be minimum because they have so much to do.  He said Marlinspike went well, practice for Battlestations, which I think is next week.  My son's inspections have gone well.  He said it is hard to get healthy there.  My 10 year old daughter prays for her brother and all the other recruits every day :-)

God bless you all!

Phone call?  or letter?  We got the small one page letter.  My son is definately not a great communicator like some of your fine sons :) but I love him dearly none the less which is why this forum has been a lifeline to us.  I'm shocked at they only have one flag so far and he did say that they don't have firearms for left handed people (with 35,000 recruits each year I would think they would accommodate left handed sailors).   My son did say he carries a flag out front (although he didn't say which one or give a description of it) and so I search for him constantly on FB, only to no avail...  it seems the photographers don't take pics of the 800 divisions anyway. I'm so glad though that some of your sons have found the time to give more details about training and liberty weekend as it's made a huge difference in our planning.  Letting go has been the hardest and he my oldest of three children.  This has been quite the experience.  So proud of him, yet completely shaken me to the core.  And I know this is only the beginning since he has chosen a difficult path to follow.   Kudos to all you strong mothers, wifes, and family members for keeping it together.

@ Stacy .... My son is a stick too.... (carries a flag first row) we will be able to spot them right away...!!

I search myself on FB ..... LOL

Whooo! I received mail!! :) My SR says that the days are starting to pass quickly! He mentioned that they got to shoot their weapons and it was probably the most fun he's had at RTC. lol. He also mentioned that he ace'd his Uniform & Weapons Inspections. I think he wrote "5.0" next to that line? Does that make sense to anyone? Is he referring to a grading scale? He kinda lost me with that. lol.

Oh he also mentioned that they may get to see their "soft orders" soon. I sure hope so! :)
