Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

ahhh! i made a mistake!
well i'm not sure if any of you have done this, but i just realized i have been using the wrong format when i sent off my letters to my fiance! instead of SR last name, first name, mi i have been using this: SR first name, last name! ughh! i just sent all my letters today and as i was addressing my letter for today i realized i had made this mistake! does this mean he will not receive my past letters??? i am so upset with myself! :(

It is normal for civilians to do Mr first last name like Denise said dont worry about it just adjust yourself from here on out. he will get the letters you arent the only one that has done this.

Annette, just a for your info type message we never use the full name of our sailors or recruits this is for security reasons. Suggest you drop his last name from yur message. Welcome to the Navy family!!

The Community Guidelines for this site indicate not to use last names. Other sites, such as NAVYDADS.COM and the RTC fB page permit the use of last names. Some on here use first names for themselves and their recruits/Sailors, while others of us choose to not use our own names and never post even the first name of our recruits/Sailors.

That is the first time I have seen a Religious Program Specialist referred to as a bodyguard for chaplains. I learned something new. You may wish to join PIR 06/15/2012 TG31 to connect with others who have loved ones training with your SR and Religious Program Specialist to connect with others with loved ones in the same rating. Ashley, Me again. We have a lot in common. My daughter did this, too, and freaked out. The recruiting officer gave bad info, also didn't tell her about putting RTC in the address. I reassured her and am glad to read on the site that this happens frequently and that they get the letters anyway. She just worries that he is sad or not getting her (many!) letters. Apparently, we're all in this together. Hang in there, everyone.

Hi everyone. I received my first letter yesterday 5/8/12. He is in ship 12 div 185!!!!! He sounds so good, he said he has a lot of buddies! He said they all work together like a team. He said they are like family! So, I'm confident if you have not received a letter yet, it is on its way!!!!! Like I said previously, I am only an hour away from base, so it only takes a day to get here!! So keep checking those mailboxes. Take care everyone!

I rush to my mailbox every afternoon to look for my form letter. I have a question about how the weeks are counted. Do they start the evening they get there or the following morning?
