For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

my grandson left yesterday for bootcamp and departing from him was sad but we were very proud.we got call late last night to say he was fine.

Hi Navy girl! Congrats on your new adventure. I is so beautiful there. My daughter (19) left Halloween weekend of last year and graduated January 9th. I am still struggling and trying to hold back the tears. She was not my only child. I have a girl 23 and a son almost. I know this is what you asked but I had to vent a little. Anyway, depending on your job will depend on where you to school. My daughter is go to school to be an Air Traffic Controller. She is in Pensacola, FL now. She is scheuled to graduate 5/22/12 and then she can come home for 2 weeks. She has not been home in 5 months. My understanding the top percentage of the class get to go where they choose. My daughter will be heading for Virginia Naval Station and then possible on to a ship for 6mths. The days are easier, but I still cry when I here her sweet voice. Make sure whomever raised you is aware that you will not make any contact with them the first 3 wks of training. That was the worst time of my lffe. Preparing for it is usuless. Take it from some ont who know. Take care and enjoy the moment. My daughter said Bootcamp was a breeze. She is about 5ft 7in and about 100 lbs. You will be fine.!

Thanks!!! I will be leaving on Monday to head to MEPS for the final swearing in. I am ready to go. I am the baby of three. My mom has already started getting emotional. And its even worse for my only niece who is five. I told my mom that it would be awhile before she would hear from me. And I assured her and my niece that I would write as soon as I get a chance.

Does anyone know how long bootcamp is for? trying to guestimate, when I should be flying to the graduation. thanks!
