Just sent a copy of the N4M questionnaire found in the dicussion form to my son. I know it will not only make him smile but I can get the 411 about the division and his experience. I know my son does not like to give a great deal of detail, so the questionnaire should help. Really soon to ask but has anyone heard from their recruit other than the form letter? Recognizing that they are extremely busy, I look forward to hearing from them.

We got a 'real' letter yesterday, too! It was soooo good to hear from him. He must have said that he loves us and misses us about 10 times...LOL! He said he's tired and cold, but doing well - he also said he's PFC (does that stand for Private First Class???) and he carries the flag for his division when they march. I found the Facebook page for 'US Naval Recruit Training Command' and I think I saw Daniel in one of the random pics they posted from boot camp this week!

Hi moms. Has anybody received a call yet? Im glued to my phone. He left 4/3. So this is the third Sunday.

No call yet for me either...I've had my cell phone on full volume in my pocket everywhere I go for the last few days!

Has anyone booked their flights/hotels/car rentals yet??? I'm pricing out airline tickets and getting excited!

Wow...we received two letters today. My son is doing ok, missing his family. Had to have his wisdom teeth pulled. He said to send multiple letters and not bulky ones as they get screened. He loves the pictures, I send one or two in each letter, everyday. I am happy to finally hear from him.

The real sad part is, after PIR  he has to fly out to Pensacola Saturday morning ...so we will only get a few hours with him. Then no electronics for 3 to 4 more weeks after he gets to A school....

Congrats to all moms that got their first calls today:) must have been the best sound, that voice. Do they all get to call same day or is it random? Thanx moms.
I Got His Call! They were given 8 minutes today and called before 4pm CA time. It seemed like there were more of them making calls all at the same time and you could hear them yelling down the time left. He sounds good, says its really intense and they get yelled at all the time. A bunch of them had their wisdom teeth pulled this week but he is healing quick. He passed his PT pre-test so he just has to keep it up. They didn't get a division flag so their phone time got cut. He said today is day 2-5 and something about the weekend days are "hold" days? So Monday will be 3-1. I hope you all got to hear from your SR. It was hard and I bawled like a baby afterward. Not a great thing at work. LOL Prayers for strength for our division!

Did any one else get their call? I have been getting letters but no phone call yet. Wondering if they all got a chance to call. I have been glued to my phone this week.

Hi Moms. Does anybody else here have an SR flying out of Great Lakes to attend A school? Im trying to figure out how much time I will have with him at grad and I really want to meet him at the airport to give him his cell phone, laptop etc. Thanks for any info.

I've read on other boards that if they are leaving GL for A school its typically Saturday AM for flights out. But of course it will depend on your SR's orders and where he is headed. It might help to check out groups here for his Aschool. I found the one for mine, Pcola FL. Its also neat to read ahead to what they will experience in school.

Sigh...Saturday night and still no call. In my head, I know I should be patient. I know they are not guaranteed all three phone calls, but I'm still really sad that we have not heard the sound of his voice. I guess it's just hard hearing that some of the division got to call but not all. It's been really hard having him gone. Is it normal to still be so sad? I mean I have moments when I 'm so proud and excited about what he is doing and others when the pain in my heart us so acute. I bought him a card today that I know will make him smile... but I still want to hear that smile, or frustration, or even fatigue personally. Here's hoping that we get to hear soon...

I know there is a limit on how many can make calls at one time and with 72 in their division im sure they got split up. Have you seen the videos here or on the RTC web site of the phone banks? You'll get a call soon Im sure. Hang in there mom! {{{{{SRMcjmom}}}}}}}}
