Hey =)
I had started a discussion at another place, but figured this was a better spot for it. I just wanted to start a place where we could all chat that our children were in the same group.
My name is Candy and my son is a 4th generation sailor on his dad's side. I am so proud of him. His father was in the Navy and I was Air Force. He did a little bit of college and decided that it wasn't for him. He is going to Mississippi for A school to be a SeeBee builder.
So glad I was told about this site.

Are you talking to me? If so, no. I didn't find out about Navy Lodge till after I made my arrangements. Drats! Anyway, I am staying at the Quality Inn on Green Bay Rd. in Waukegan. Had I known about Navy Lodge...
oh well we will probably see you at the meet and greet. I think its on thurs?? not sure
Woot TGIF, because we got two letters from our SR! Things are gettting better and he even sounds like he's starting t o enjoy it (gasp!). Marlinspike is this week and he's getting psyched for that. He missed his phone call because he was SIQ, but hopefully he'll be able to get it reschedule it. It was great "hearing" from him. 27 days and counting... I can't wait!
No letter today, I got a nice long one on Wednesday.
25 days and counting. Can't wait to see the changes in him.
My son is also in this division
When is the graduation?
June 1st!
meet and greet is on thursday the 31st. what is your sons name?
Are most of you planing on going to Sarge's meet and great?
I am so there!! I have been praying against spirtual attacks lately. We've had some stuff come up with my family, including my SR, and I feel like I or we are under attack...it feels harder and harder as graduation draws closer...
Another thing that is bothering me. Since I've been on this website and connecting with you all I have learned so much, especially how to be discreet about my SR. I've visited the FB page for RTC and there are so many people on there calling their recruits by whole names, tagging them in photos, etc. It seems dangerous to me! Anyone want to chime in on this subject?
I have learned so much from this website. My son made friends with someone and i would love to reach out to his family on here, But they don't want you to use names on here. Not sure how I am supposed to get around that.
I agree with you TysMom, especially on the RTC FB page. It is a public page and tagging or talking about your SR like that is not a good idea. We are very good about OpSec here on these pages (of which I am extremely thankful!), but many people do not think when they write on FB... or many other social networking sites. They do not think about who can see the posts or pictures and what can be done with the information that is out there. I am not trying to be alarmist, but rather asking people to be thoughtful about what they do and say.
