Hello,
Today I received my son's box home. It had all his possessions in it. I called the recruiter and he said that I should have received a phone call from my son, but i didn't. So I hope to hear from him soon, miss him a lot. The recruiter gave me the information of where to send my letters. The recruiter said the 1st line you write this, the second line this, and the third line you put the address, does anyone know if you put the entire address on the third line, or do you address at like a normal letter?
Need some input, please
Thank you,
Penny

Penelope - Go to this official Navy website, and click on the 1st FAQ that says:
(actually read all the FAQ's they are great)
http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/faq_family.asp
What is the proper mailing address for a recruit?A.The proper format for recruit mailing addresses is:
SR LAST NAME, FIRST NAME, MI
SHIP XXX DIV XXX
RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
GREAT LAKES IL 60088-XXXX
Thank you for the information, I appreciate it :)
Penelope....what div # did the recruiter give you?
HI, He said that my son was in ship 12 Division 203. Is your son or daughter in the same one?
Peneolpe..sorry no my son PIR'd in Jan 2010. I'm just one of the "veteran" moms who directs traffic and tries to answer questions.
RE: Phone Call. There are lots of reasons why people don't get their final phone call. Perhaps his cell phone battery was dead. Maybe he decided not to wait in line at the phone booths for a call that literally can only last about 10 seconds. Maybe he was given a job during the time the rest were making their calls. If anything was wrong, they would let you know. He's in good hands. Just keep writing him positive letters and letting him know that you're proud of him!
Thank you for the information and the encouragement. :)
Penelope - Hello...I am a "veteren" BC Mom on the PIR groups...so far I am seeing up to Division 201 for the 06/29/2012 PIR...we won't know all of the actual Divisions for this PIR date until RTC posts it on their website(usually Mondays...but can be later in the week...I update the Groups as soon as I see RTC do so).
Please go ahead and join the group! Here is the link:
http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir-6-29-12
If it is not your PIR date...no worries...you just leave and join the correct PIR group...OR if you are in the PIR date after this one, I might hit you up to form that PIR group (hint, hint LOL)
Welcome!
My son left on 5/1, got his 10 second call that he made it and that is all I have heard. I did receive his box of clothes on 5/4, but to this point, no letter or address where to send letters. I thought w/in a week we would get some sort of form letter or something to let us know the PIR date and an address to write him. Can anyone help me here with an estimated timeline of getting this information from him? Thanks so much.
Thank you so much. It has been a roller coaster of emotions, the whole thing is bittersweet & am so anxious to hear from him. I am so thankful for some of the information I am reading on here, helps to know others are feeling and going thru the same thing. Honestly, i do not do this much so not sure if i am supposed to post on the blogs, in chat, here etc...so, if I should be doing this elsewhere, please advise. Thanks so very much!!!!
Remember CHAT is in real time - sometimes the answers are in "short hand", so it may appear brusque - the platform for CHAT (whether it is N4M or any other site) is fast, answers are provided quickly as possible (no time to be flowery); otherwise the answer may disappear because the system only keeps a certain number visible of lines. Good luck. But someone will be around to point you in the right direction.
I know how your feeling, I too am feeling emotional. But I trust that all is well because I have not heard from. I look forward everyday that goes by that he will be calling me soon. Maybe a letter will arive, and when it does, I will feel so much better. until then I have looked as of the power point presentations they offer on the site, such as the P-day informational one, and it was really good for me to see it. Maybe you too could check it out. Hang in there.
