Boot Camp Mom's Prayer
God bless my recruit as he meets this day
I pray that he has the strength to find his way
As reveley wakes him so loud and clear
I pray your love will lead him, and he will show no fear
If there's danger and if there's strife
Please send Angels to guard his life
Keep him safe and hold him near
Bless my recruit, I hold him dear
Until he moves on to PIR day
Bring peace to our hearts
And strength to our faith

teeny... ummm... you're missing something in your post and if ever there was a reason for it, it's now ............................................................................................................................................................... WHERE IS YOUR HAPPY DANCE?? :D
Got my Sailor call! So proud of him, and so excited to see him! I am getting nervoussss!
Also, I received a different time from my Sailor about the Starbucks meeting. Is it at 3:30 or the earlier time that I was told? I am so nervous I am going to miss it!
Sealmom-- just checking on you-- did you finally get your call?
cnic....your Sailor most likely won't know about the Starbucks meeting. PIR (graduation) starts at 9am (but get there early). Did he mention the Starbucks meeting by name?
He had mentioned what I am supposed to have my nails like and what I am supposed to look for when I get there in order to spot the tables. He gave me the number and address to the Starbucks and Sarge's meeting. He told me that a friend of his that he made while in boot, his mom was the one planning, or setting up or creating a board on N4M's website and I should get information from here and at the meetings. I am going to be WAY early to the graduation, I don't want any hiccups to happen on PIR day! lol.
WOW...that is really cool. I always thought that they were cut off from everything but our letters there. That is so neat that he knew the details and wanted to make sure you knew them too! Have fun at PIR!
Hi cnic21!
You should be able to 'scroll up' to the top of the page and see all of the "Starbucks" meet and greet info (this one is before the 'official' Sarge's Meet and Greet at 5:30 PM CST).
Don't be surprised if you have a herd of happy seemingly random women wearing blue nail polish run up to you and give you a hug! ;) I look forward to seeing you there cnic21!
cnic, the instructors read these comments out loud and try to associate your sailor to you. Sorry I meant to warn you all about it, but didn't want to add unecessary worry. Its usually more embarrassing than anything for your guys. I know, my son was one of them. I had his picture as my profile and they read some of my comments. Others were told where there families were staying for PIR. I am sure others will have the same sort of stories.
I know, when I talked to my Sailor yesterday he said to be careful about what I say on here and things like that because his chief? or someone high up does come on here to see what is being said. That is why I haven't changed my profile picture yet, I want to but I am afraid that if I say something that I am not supposed to and then my picture is there, it will then associate me with my Sailor and get him into trouble. I am very paranoid about getting him into trouble because their whole division has done excellent during boot! Thank you, I am going to be at the Starbucks meeting as well as the Sarge's meeting, if I have a 1 year old with me, don't be alarmed, I don't always bring my child to "bars" and in public when he is cranky (we have a 5 hour + drive to take and we will be leaving early and this is his first long car ride.. so I don't know how he will be .. and also, let me restate, i NEVER take my child to bars.. but in public, rarely cranky! lol) I look forward to meeting everyone! I can not wait! 7 DAYS!!!!!
Also, I was informed by my Sailor that they were given orders not to be within the Chicago city limits, because of the NATO conference going on. So thankfully our plans don't take us much farther than a couple miles from base, but I just want to warn everyone who hadn't heard yet!
It's my turn............Yippe ka oh Kai Yah! My new Sailor was pretty whipped when he called, said they were up all night Wednesday night. He said he has his cap but he won't "technically" be a Sailor until after PIR. He's a detail kind of guy.
The biggest news I have to add to our "quilt" is RTC Admiral put out orders "no sailors from RTC allowed in side the city limits of Chicago next weekend during NATO conference". That kind of throws a kink in our plans to see some sights of the windy city but we're in the Navy now and orders are orders. Look out Gurnee!
Doesn't really matter to me I'll be happy just to hang out with my new Sailor and hear about Boot Camp..........you know the drill. Start from the beginning and don't leave anything out! ;o
myty..Happy Happy Birthday to you, after all you are the one who did all the work all those years ago! What a great birthday present for your new Sailor to know he's one step closer to his goal!
You'll know me when you see me at PIR, I'll be the one looking for all of you so I can hug your necks and tell you how much I appreciate everyone of you. We've prayed together, celebrated the receipt of a form letter and first letter, shared our worries over exhausted sons being tested and held each other up with pieces of information that kept us connected to our loved ones. We are Navy family and in just 6 more days we'll know each other by name.
