Hey =)
I had started a discussion at another place, but figured this was a better spot for it. I just wanted to start a place where we could all chat that our children were in the same group.
My name is Candy and my son is a 4th generation sailor on his dad's side. I am so proud of him. His father was in the Navy and I was Air Force. He did a little bit of college and decided that it wasn't for him. He is going to Mississippi for A school to be a SeeBee builder.
So glad I was told about this site.

Has anyone heard if our SRs have earned any pennants yet?
I received a couple letters and none of them say anything about pennants. He talks about a flag that they decorated.
So sorry for being awol for a few days. Home life has been nuts. Anyways. Got a letter from my son on Wed. He says they have gotten 2 flags so far. This letter is dated May 6th. They got a 4.4 on WTI "Weapon Turnover Inspection" and Zones (which sounds like everything was clean for inspection, and put in it's right place)
They are going back to the gun range for live fire, and phone calls were pushed back because they are so busy.Wed of this week was Drill inspection. So hopefully they have learned how to march by now. =)
Thats awesome! Thanks for the updates.
thanks Candy!
17 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know =) I can hardly wait.. I've actually started packing .. lol
Tick... Tick... Tick.... <looks at watch> Sigh... Tick... Tick... Tick
I can't wait!
Has anyone talked to LaLa about making ribbons for us? I saw a post in the thread about another group getting ribbons. I'm going to send her a message and ask.
My son has talked about some of the SRs. There are several that I look forward to meeting and their families as well
My son has talked about some also. His bunk mate and him almost share the same last name too. The only difference is an "S" at the end on ours. I asked him if it made getting laundry interesting.
I love Thursdays! I get a letter or 2 a week. He mentioned peanut butter shot #2. He was not happy about that. lol.
