hey agg my son is going to Groton, CT he said a lot of them are staying in Great Lakes and a lot are going to FL.  I hope my son finds someone that is going to CT.  Probably not, that is the way life is in the military.  I am a navy brat and a navy wife so i know that story too well

My husbands is an AM going to Pensecola. Which is alot closer to me than Great Lakes. I hope I can visit him on the weekends. I'm looking forward to being able to talk with him at night time and more in general. agg my sailor sounded terrible the first call! He sounded a lot better during this one to. I'm so proud of him he is a section leader for the division and passed his PFA. He said afterwards he thought he was going to pass out but if you pass out they automatically fail you. I'm gonna ask Gregory is he knows a Matt :) I'm glad none of them have to get any more peanut shots! lol

Travis is going to Groton as well. He is going to do computer electronics on submarines. He said he thinks he will be leaving for A school on Saturday right after PIR. If so, we will go the the airport and hang out there as long as we can. He was able to call my husband after he called me and told him that he had hurt his knee, but was getting better and was getting back with the dividion because he didn;t want to jeaprodize graduation. He also said he was promoted to E2. I'm not sure how that would happen, but it must be a good thing. What a great day!! I was trying not to let it get to me on Mother's Day and I;'e got to say that the call today definately made up for it. :)

Hi there,

After anxiously waiting for some kind of word since his last letter on the May 4th, my son Shawn called me and can you believe it I missed his call! Soooooo mad at myself for leaving my phone in the car ( something I NEVER do) but he left me a message and sounded great, passed his 2nd PT test and said to proceed with plans for 6/1 PIR. So happy to at least hear his voice. No Battlestations date yet. What a huge relief he is doing well. My trip from Oregon to PIR starts next Sunday the 27th with a flight to Mississippi then by car to Great Lakes on the Thursday before PIR. It is getting so exciting now! 16 days!

Yes I am so excited with you! The more I think about it the more the days just seem to drag by so I'm trying not to dwell on it too much. I can't wait to see my sailor. I plan on recording the graduation. I don't know how I'll be able to stay in my seat when I see him.

I know the feeling, up high would give us an impressive view of the whole graduation but down low will get us to them quicker for that all important hug we have been waiting for! I have not seen my son in 15 months!!

glad to hear travis is going to groton as well hopefully there will be a bunch of guys going that they know.  i am originally from boston so at least my son will be close to family

That's nice that your son will have family nearby.  I am hoping we can visit Ct. sometime this fall. Travis' birthday is in October.  It would be nice if we could get out there near that time.  I don;t know what the rules are once they are in A school.  I guess it's almost time to start learning about that now the Basic is almost done.  PS Diannep has battelstations dates for our division, friend her and she can message it to you. Have a great day!!

Thank you for that :)

highdesertmom, have a safe trip i will be counting down the days with you until our son's PIR 6/1

AAAAH! We're officially in the single digits counting down till next Friday I'm going to be so excited to see everyone reunited with their sons/husbands/boyfriends! Especially cause I get to see my sailor! I can't wait to see who is awarded what on the bootcamp.navy.mil/ site :)
This weekend I will be in shopping mode getting my outfit together for his graduation. 1) because it keeps me busy and 2) because I only get to see him once in 4 months! It's a pretty important outift! lol
Wishing you all the best XO
