Hi! My husband and I came to Everett from Bremerton and We just found out we are expecting! Yes very exciting except being away from my family and the only place i lived my entire life in Southern CA and my husband is home and gone all the time I am having a hard time finding any friends since there's no housing on base and i feel very weak because this is all so new to me! I just need some girl talk! and someone to vent to once in a while!

Hi Brianna, Congratulations! Babies ARE a life changing event with a bit of a challenge thrown in when you're away from your family but you can get great support here, too. I suspect you have established your prenatal care with a provider? I don't know if the Navy provided suggestions or if there are restrictions as to where you need to go but I work at a major downtown Seattle hospital(hint, hint) and I have cared for many Navy wives in our ob department so I think you must be free to choose. You may not want to deal with the traffic congestion, so another good option is Providence in Everett. They also have an excellent reputation. Be sure to ask your specific provider if you have any pregnancy questions but I'm willing to help explain anything that you might want more informtion about. Again, congratulations and best wishes for a nausea free first trimester, an energy filled second trimester and a happy, growing baby bump third! (Not to mention a safe, relatively fast and pain free"ish" labor!...but that's many months in the future: )
Hi all need some info please. Any CTTs or other rates out there doing a tour at Naval Station Everett Washington? My son is thinking of changing his dream sheet but hears it rains all the time, is boring unless you are an avid outdoorsman who likes to hunt/fish 24/7. Anybody had duty there? He would be much closer to home but four years there might not be worth it. Thanks!
CRF230dad, Yes, it rains a lot but we also get sun. Don't go by the weather to decide if you like the place or not. You also don't have to be an outdoorsman. I don't like hiking, water sports ..ect. and have lived here all my life. I would not want to live any were else. It is really beautiful and breath taking at times.
Just got back from Everett. My son and daughter-in-law just presented me with my first grand child. The weather was great there was sun and rain. The gardens and scenery were breath taking!
Did I mention we are from Alabama and when we left there it was in the high 80's and very humid. It was heaven! in Everett.
Peggy,
I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to Everett, WA. Congratulations on meeting your first grandchild. I have to agree with you that WA State is a little slice of heaven.
spyder013,
There is a reason we try to keep our beautiful area a secret. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip also. :-)
Soon My husband and I will be moving in that area with our 2 small boys. He was also stationed to Everett! Congrats on your baby btw! Its always exciting to have a baby around! (mine are already 2 and 4!)

Im in Everett about 5 mins from the base. My daughter is an ET stationed in San Diego, and my son-in-law is an ET on the Nimitz. I don't know how often you get to Everett, but if you want to get together let me know. I know how hard it is to be pregnant and away from home.
Since I am not working, let me know if thou want to get together. I can take you places and take you around to get to know the area.
