While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hey =)
I had started a discussion at another place, but figured this was a better spot for it. I just wanted to start a place where we could all chat that our children were in the same group.
My name is Candy and my son is a 4th generation sailor on his dad's side. I am so proud of him. His father was in the Navy and I was Air Force. He did a little bit of college and decided that it wasn't for him. He is going to Mississippi for A school to be a SeeBee builder.
So glad I was told about this site.

Ouch. I didn't know they got two of them. That sucks. LOL.
After reading information on Battlestations it looks like our group goes first. They go in order of the Divisions starting with the lowest number. That would be us Ladies. =) If you get your call please make sure to post. I will more than likely have to work and may not be able to take a call =( Make sure to ask if everyone passed. If I can take the call I'll be sure to post.

we were so psyched - yesterday we received 3 letters - one for each of us - Mom , Dad and brother!
He said that firefighting was going to be the next day. which would have been this past Monday. Then gas chambers sometime after that. He also said that he heard battlestations were going to the next Monday. So a little confused about which Monday that would be. Anyone know? Either way only 15 days right?
BTW what are peanut butter shots?

Sounds like the gas chamber may have been yesterday. I have no idea what kind of shot that is, its probably the nick name for it due to its consistency. The only thing i know is that it is given in the buttocks. Maybe the shot was so horrible to him, he had to mention it in 2 different letters. lol. So maybe battle stations are this monday coming up. Hope I dont miss my phone call.

The peanut butter shot is called that because it is as thick as peanut butter and leaves a HUGE knot in the butt cheek it's shot into. They usually march it off (or in is a better word) It hurts a lot.

Just heard from a former sailor that the shot is probably penicillin. Either way we are looking forward to the 3rd call maybe early next week. BTW how many are planning to go to meet and greet at Sarges? We are thinking about it but not sure.

Hi moms and girlfriends/wives!
I just got off the phone with my recruit! He said Battle stations is set for Wednesday - Thursday. He was in very good spirits, and mentioned that they had all the Flags and received Pennant for Athletics and Academics! Way to go guys!

Yes i was also blessed with a call this afternoon. He said they have four team flags (all four no duplicates). 11 more days ladies brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. My sons name is Nathan, he said he really likes his bunk mate but I did not ask his name so if anyones son say they have an awesome bunk mate with that name, he would be mine :) He said gas chambers were yesterday, he was thinking it was no big deal till he had the mask off for about fifteen seconds then he said his eyes and throat hurt, he began coughing and was a little light headed (but he did not throw up-apparently some do). Yes our plans are to go to Sarge's meet and greet, are we suppose to RSVP or anything.

I couldn't believe it. A phone call today. I feel so much better knowing he is happy. I am super excited to get to PIR. He even gained 10 pounds. Is it really true, the Navy really does make them into men? lol. Yay Navy!

We got our phone call today. 30 minutes which my son said was reward for good inspection. He said he would be in the front for PIR, because he's short. He should be easy to spot. We're planning on going to Sarge's meet and greet. Hope to see alot of you there.

So the good news is that I heard from our son. Phone calls are wonderful; it was great hearing his voice. The bad news is he told us that he damaged his knee and his PIR has been postponed for a minumum of two weeks. He cannot participate in Battle Stations with the rest of the division (he was really upset about that). We'll get more information on Sunday; he's allowed to call us back for a longer chat then.
I'm sorry that I will miss all of you lovely ladies; I was looking forward to meeting you at Sarge's.
