I got my form letter today--my son is in this division!
Cool, hopefully we will have some stuff to share. Thanks for joining the group. Talk to you soon.
Hi twopercentsmom,
Just got his letter today, he is Shp 09, Div 205 - not this group but just letting you know. We are thrilled PIR will be 7/6 so the stress of opening for State Fair is not a problem now and work gave it to me even though others already had off the long weekend after the 4th. My little sister does travel and she confirmed Southwest is best choice in case of a change, so will start looking. Hope all going well on your end! Going to write a letter and get some funnies together.
My son is also in this Ship and Division. Looking forward to getting my first letter from him. I am anxious to see how he is doing. July 6th cannot come soon enough!
Twinsmom, do you have both of your boys in the Navy right now? In boot camp?
So one of your boys is in with mine, I'm hoping for a letter from my son by this Wednesday, I will keep you posted.
Yes, they are both in boot camp togetgher now. Ryan left 5 weeks before Kevin, and is doing really well. I am now an empty-nester...trying to adjust! I think we should get our first real letters from them this week! Can't wait to hear how he is doing. Both my sons are Nukes, how about yours?
No Nukes....my son is actually aiming for Special Weaponry (SWCC program), they didn't test him in time before he left, so his physical test scores are still sitting with the military somewhere (he did exceptionally well, espec. in swimming so we are hoping they pick him up sometime soon), for now he is an AC (I think that is Aircraft Computers). Still learning my acronyms. I'm very excited to get my first letter this week. I still have 2 at home (daugther 16 and another son 22), but I really miss this kiddo, just as I would the other two. I'm staying busy, I'm sure you are doing the same. Two at the same time...that would be tough, hang in there mama!!

I missed his first call thursday, so my phone was on silent! Do you think they'll have another chance to call before graduation?
I don't know about the phone calls because I am new to all of this as well, but if you got a call on Thurs, it's possible I missed my call too. I just wrote another letter and wrote my ph# real big along the side in case he forgot the #!! Hey ya never know, he's got a lot going on and his girlfriend got a letter saying he wasn't feeling so great (he had gotten sick a couple of times and got 2 wisdoms pulled...bummer!). A lot of us rely on our cell phones for the # so we don't always memorize the #.
I hope we both get a call soon, it would be great to hear his voice.
Does anyone know what to wear to PIR? Curious what to wear?
Hi Toni17....I looked at some videos and I think you should probably dress nice. But it's up to you, jeans and a nice shirt look like they would be fine, I iwll probably wear a dress or skirt. I will make my kids wear something decent...that's the best I will get out of them...LOL.
