Yes, we also got a short note on the back of the form letter from our son.  Nothing else yet but still is pretty early on in bc.  We have reservations at the Ramada in GL but no airfare yet.

Thank you! I think I better get my hotel reservations also! Good luck to your son!!! You hang in there too.

Just a little heads up from experience. For those of you who have your recruit in your profile pic, I would recommend changing it soon. The instructors will eventually start looking at these comments and try to link your recruit to you. FaceBook is no exception, they look there too. They will read the comments out loud and embarrass your recruit and maybe earn them some extra PT. If your son is like mine who likes to be fly under the radar, then its best not to make it easy for them to figure it out.

Believe me I knows its hard not to want to show them off. I got my son embarrassed because I had him as my profile pic. No one ever told me not to.

Thanks for that reminder, I had set my N4M to private but my fb profile was a pic of my son.  Think I have it all cleaned up now.  I'm curious about the fb page that was made for PIR 7/6 to know if its a "closed" page or public, my son also likes to be under the radar so whatever I can do to make that happen I'll gladly do!

if i dont have him in my pic or mention his name can they still find me?

sday,  that's a great start also make your page private by changing who can view your page to "friends only". That will help too. Once the letters start rolling in try not to be specific about something they did. Mention it as a group.

Remember that they are going through a lot a mental training and as far as I am concerned its another way to mess with their heads. Also as a security point, as your recruit moves along in training the more careful you need to be.

Thanks Cor, I had previously 'liked' that fb page but unliked it after doing my cleanup, never posted on it because i had that little thought in the back of my head it wasnt a good idea with everyone on there who were posting their SR's ship/div #s--always trust your gut!

I had changed my original name & town on N4M too after first signing up for that reason too.  I have a pseudo name in mind but might run it by my SR at PIR first lol.

I appreciate so much the veteran mom's who help us newbies!

A friend who was in the military told me the same thing. They will read through whatever they can to embarrass the recruit. I"ve told people on FB to detag him from all their pictures.

hmmm it has gotten quiet here. I suppose no letters or phone calls yet? Keep us posted.

No letter or call..sniffle sniffle. It's early in the week is what I keep telling myself
hoping for a letter friday..! if not theres always next week :)

I've got a feeling we will get letters this Friday! Yep, that's what I'm telling myself! My mailman knows he's one of my favorite people right now. Hope everyone is staying strong as I know our SR's are.
