Not sure how you add discussion groups.  I was able to add the Group Pre-Buds to my profile.  Perhaps the veteran moms know.

Sorelle, I see what you mean now.  The Discussion group is on my profile page.. I have no idea how I got it there!! arrggghhh?

well said Cor

I got 5 letters from my son!!!! Check your mailboxes!!!

Hooray Momof3!! Stand up and do the Happy Dance!! WOW!! 5!!!

I'm still happy!!!  I called my niece and asked her to come over to read his letters.  I've read them to my parents and his siblings and I've invited his friends to come over and read them.  I want to share my joy with the world!  Here's some info.

My son says the guys in 816 are really cool.  He says they talk about how they need to work together as a team.  They discussed what they each needed to work on and how they need to get their fundamentals down so they can do better. They discuss both the positive and the negative. He says everyone is motivated and dedicated.  They've had their first swim and PST already.  They had marched almost 2 miles to their current ship with their sea bags on their backs.  He threw in, "It wasn't hard.  I'm just giving you details."  He mentioned people getting sick, signing up for bank accounts and the Montgomery G.I. Bill.  They had their first mail day.  It was a bad day because he had only slept a bit due to being woken up for another 2 hour watch. When he and the others found out they had letters, everyone got excited.  So. write to your SRs as often as possible.  He says the best part about BC is wearing the uniform, Taps (means sleep), when they can talk, letter writing, and SLEEP.  When they sing or sound off, their division is so loud that it can be felt in the chest.  When they are working out and finish a set, the RDC will tell them to relax and they say, "NO, YOU CAN'T HURT THIS!!!" Haha.  :)

Question to everyone?  do they get time everyday to write letters? or just on Sundays?

A great big, HOOYAH to your son!  Those are some great numbers!

I probably didn't explain the PST numbers correctly.  The numbers I posted were not my sons.  They were the very best numbers achieved by 5 different guys in the 816 Division  for each event Swim -7:45, push-ups -123, Sit ups-91, pull-ups-27, run-7:55.  I thought it was interesting to see just how strong these boys are!! Amazing!!

Hooray Selaine6!!  Sooo happy for you!  studying huh?  what are they studying I wonder....... and maybe a phone call on Friday? okay... did your son take a calling card with him?  mine didn't....

For sure.... I invited the other SR's mom to join us on here... that left the same day with ours... haven't seen her on here yet.  I'll invite her again.  It is very, very encouraging and helpful.. don't you think?

Also forgot to tell you, we read somewhere to make a photocopy of a photo, they can receive that.. we have done that a couple of times
