So happy to get letters today!! The worst part is , Ryan's feet hurt, I knew they would, he got my tender feet. He said the first day was terrible and the RDCs were so mean he wanted to come home. now he says he kind of likes them and he seems to find humor in "the little one" who is" the best yeller", he even drew a little heart when he said he likes how they call everyone "GUY". Good thing his skin toughened up after the initial sleep deprivation was remedied. His fantastic sense of humor is alive and well and he has earned the nick name Jay Leno because of his prominent jaw. So far, so good, I knew he would be ok, he's got a soft heart, but he can tough it out when he needs to, he said not to worry because it is actually kind of fun, whew!
my husband went home for lunch and said that we have a letter from our daughter...i'm so excited to go home.
Here is something you guys might like. At PIR (graduation) the divisions enter the hall in numerical order. Division 213 is the first division of all the divisions graduating on July 13. What does this mean for you? It means that as the door to the hall rolls up, and you are sitting in the bleachers with your heart in your throat and tears of pride welling up in your eyes, those feet you see peeking through will be those of YOUR SAILOR! My daughter's division was the first to walk in during PIR and I'll tell you, it is so amazing. I'm posting the picture below. Everytime I see this picture (even on RTC's facebook page and it's another division), I get all teared up. Also...don't worry about where to sit, the hall is marked letting you know where each division will be standing. Division 213 will be at the left side of the hall (from your perspective) so don't worry when they march in and pass right by you. They will end up back in front of you. Enjoy :)
Oh my gosh! That's so exciting!!!!! I can't wait!!!
i'm so excited for that day. I just want to hug my daughter. I got my first letter on Friday. She said that the first week was rough but it's getting easier and that she's starting to enjoy herself! I can't wait until July 13th!
That's awesome to hear that your daughter is starting to enjoy herself! Isn't that such a great relief! I know when my daughter wrote and told me she was fine, I could FINALLY breath again!
If you guys don't know about the PIR Ribbons, here is the site:

The lady the makes them is on here under the name Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons. She makes custom ribbons to wear at PIP to honor your SR plus a bunch of other cool stuff. Check her out.
HELP! Is there anyone from SHIP 3 Division 218 ? What are the Meet and Greets and how do you know which one to sign up for? Are than anyother Southern Indiana Moms on this site?
This group is Ship II Div 213 and by all means, you are more than welcome to join in and post but there is a group titled Ship 3, Div 218 under the PIR (Pass-In-Review) date 071312. There you'll find others who are housed with your SR. There are a few of us that have signed up for Sarge's Meet and Greet on Thursday, July 12 at the Sundance Saloon. The only other one I'm aware of for our PIR date is one at the Ramada Inn. Basically, I think they are meant to facilitate families, friends, loved ones of those Sailors graduating the following day to meet and get acquainted. Additionally, I know the Sarge Meet & Greet will have a guest speaker giving us great information on PIR and what to expect as well as lots of other helpful information about the weekend & sites, restaurants to visit while in Chicago. Let us know if you plan to attend so we can be on the lookout and meet up. Welcome!
did anyone else get a phone call last night? kandie called ans was on phone 2 minutes and had to get off i hope this wasnt her second call :(
Good morning all,
Battle stations should be on May 5, hope everyone does good, it can get boring at time. We should get a call on the 6th so keep your phones on. It would be nice to get one sooner who knows. 15 more days till we get to hug, kiss and cry with our new Sailors!!!!! Hope its not hot like it is here today. I live about 20 miles from RTC and we're suppose to be in the 100's today.
My daughter wrote to me and said they don't have to do the gas!
