Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

There is actually a Group already on here, PROUD NAVY DADS (clickable link). I don't know why I didn't find it earlier--I used the same word, "Dads", to search this time as I did earlier and it came up in the first page of results and ealier I went through 3 pages and decided there wasn't a Dads group on here. The group hasn't been active in a while, but all it takes to be active is a few people commenting.

I don't know why... I searched for a Dad's group when I first registered, and nothing appeared as far as Group names, only threads where the word "Dads" appeared-- of which there were many.
Sorry! I didn't mean to start something unneccessary, when there was already an existing place for Dads.
Maybe the two groups could be consolidated?

You cannot consolidate groups. You can change the new one to only invited members and in the information include a note pointing people to PROUD NAVY DADS. Then ask admin to delete the new group by clicking on "Report an Issue" at the bottom of any page. Be sure to include the URL of the group in the request to remove it.
OR
You could just leave the new group because the PROUD NAVY DADS group is not active and the creator seems to be inactive on the site, so he cannot update anything. The URL should be http://www.navyformoms.com/group/dads-on-moms-com/. It is a good idea to have at least one other person be a "Group Administrator" (you do that in Manage Group Members) so that ithings can be updated and the group can continue if you ever do leave the site.
BTW, your "Now here this! Now here this!" within the Information secton of the group should be "Now hear this! Now hear this!

Dang it! I hate speeeling errors. Can't believe I did that. Sounds like lemon has just volunteer to be my second in command.
As to whether or not the group should remain, I dunno. I just started it because I was asked to, so if I need to delete it, well my second in command will have to show me how.

I was on my way to San Antonio yesterday to see my son graduate from C School and also to be frocked as MA2. I just got back on tonight. I'll leave that group to others. Thanks for the offer though. I don't mind being cut at all.

LET THIS NEW GROUP http://www.navyformoms.com/group/dads-on-moms-com (clickable link) STAY INTACT - AND STAND ALONE - DON'T CONSOLIDATE - TOO CONFUSING.
On the other site, no one has commented since January 10, 2011 which means the creator and the members are long gone. Concernedad is here and now and will be able to keep control of the the new group, There are a few controls that are available to the creator of the group and not any of the other admins.
I nominate Lemon to be your second in command. BTW, you can have as many as you want. Don't forget to make good use of the PAGES feature.
