Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

PIR date of 7/13/2012 -Ship04, DIV 816

Hello to any other fellow NAVY moms with a son in this division?  Just wanting to connect with any others? I"ve received my box, all is well, he says the guys in his division are "animals, beasts!"

Thanks for the link, baldilocks.  I found it to post and then lost track of where I was...couldn't find cjmoore's question!  I am on too many different groups....you should see me here at the kitchen table--laptop, iPad and cell phone.  I am using all 3, trying to find where I left off!

cjmoore, I will make it a point to seek you out at PIR.  We will have to figure out a plan so we can find one another.  How is your SR doing?  Other than shin splints, I think Dan is doing ok.  Let me know if you find your son in the marching photo.  Be sure to check the first few pics.  I think there are 2 or 3 of 816.

Hello everyone, my boyfriend is in this division. So excited for PIR next month. I have recieved 8 letters and one phone call this far, looking forward to more! Hope everyone is doing well and getting by!

We have several girlfriends on this site, several moms and at least one wife!  it is a great place to share updates re: our SR!   I always learn more things as I read everyones posts!

Hooray FAncyNancy!  I keep looking at all those boys faces and don't see mine!  but it is neat just have a glimpse of their day!  So happy for you Fancy Nancy!  You go girl doing that happy dance!  Maybe we'll get a phone call too tomorrow!

Got some more letters from my SR! He talks about serious team building exercises. One in particular where the whole division did push ups with no feet touching the ground (feet are on shoulders). They all had to work together as a team to get up at the same time. They've done Marlin Spike and have had their PFA. He even knew about the pictures on FB! He says the days go by slowly but the weeks fly. He drew a picture of some of the other recruits with last names. I wish I could share the picture and names but, last names are not allowed on here. He said they were great people and couldn't wait to tell me all about them. He drew them as they were, sitting up against his bunk on a Sunday in their camos. He even sent my husband, his step-dad, a heart warming letter for Father's Day and a sticker that says, "My Son is in the Navy." He didn't forget his brothers! He sent them post cards and asked them to, "Take care of Mom." Oh, I miss him soooooo...much!
