Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son is in Division 937 and I am already so excited to attend PIR. Has anyone made their hotel reservations yet or am I the only one so anxious she did it BEFORE receiving the official letter?
So far I've only received the "I got here call" and "the box." Reminded me of birth -- naked they came into civilian life and naked they left it for the Navy :)
What a journey we are all on together!

I understand his concern for your safety! I think a lot of the hotels have shuttles to the base and if you use the hotel shuttle, anyone on the shuttle will be attending the PIR.

I think so (About the colds, and I have a great meds for it that works so well on him and cant send it, Darn it) It has to be the ITE's too, he said the holding a push up is the absolute worst of them all, and they know when they see bottles of hot sauce it means some one messed up, how bad depends on the number of bottles. like with the flirt, it was 3 bottles which turned into 6 hours of pure HE double hockey sticks!!!!
He said they are down to 84 members in their group and they are still declining, He said it wasnt too bad, that the one thing he wished he had been told was that the first 2 nights there is zero sleep, I told him, why do you think I had told you to make sure you sleep on the plane..he spent the time talking with a local girl, but she is not in his group.
Then he told me, Hey mom there is this group you should join, called "N4M" and then there are groups special for our division. I told him I had already beat him to it, They will be playing for 3 PIR and then part of theirs. he also said the girls are the worst when it comes to getting along and I laughed, (I know I have 6 sisters) I told him they put a bunch of women some with pms in a small room sure there was going to be fights. but it is getting better as they start to weed out trouble makers. He asked me to send more pictures . and znot to write in red, which guess what I wrote with my first couple letters in....yep red. Im still thrilled that I got to talk to him and he was also able to call my husband and talk to him a few minutes too because he couldnt remember my cel number.. But in all it was a great call from him..

what do you mean hot sauce bottles?
my husband said they had to stay up for 54 hours!!! lol we told him to sleep on the plane too!
thats funny , i bought a bunch of different colored pens so his letters wouldn't be boring black and blue ink and in his letter he told me " you can't write in red and yellow (which was actually pink and orange) because i have to do most of my reading at night and we have to sleep with a red light on its called "darken the ship" " lol i ws like ooops hahaha

I didn't hear about the hot sauce, either. While we were talking, my husband came home, so we both got to talk with our SR :) The timing was perfect.
I hadn't even thought about all the shots. That could have something to do with the sickness, too.
When my son mentioned that their division didn't start out so well I wondered if that's the way they all seem or if theirs really was having problems :o It's good they're getting it together now!
It will be easy to pick our guys out at graduation since they'll be performing -- I can't wait to see and hear them.
UrabissWife, did you call Sarge about a ride so you don't have to take a taxi? I've heard he's also more reasonably priced than taxis.

awe thats so good your husband go tot talk also!! it happened perfectly :)
my husband said they are having a lot of problems with the girls so hopefully they could get along soon. if it were me there i would mind my own business and just get the job done lol
i know i was so excited to hear he was playing in the band b/c i was worried i wouldn't be able to pick him out ! but the PIR is going to be sooo small. we are the smallest group. and like you said they are still loosing people.
i have not called him. i messaged him on here and no reply. i told my mom about him she is really sketched out about it. i told her so many moms and wives have used his service but she doesn't think it is safe. lol im an adult but im still her baby :) i've been pricing everyone i still have to call to make sure though

We too are planning on going, and it push comes to shove I wouldnt mind you riding with us, we will rent a car when we get there... But no pressure...
Omaha Rudy, My son is trying to figure out which boy is yours HAHA... and I would love to find out who his bunk mates spouse is, she has a 2 month old baby, and the SR is bummed as he wont get solid time with the baby till she is a bit older, I told my son, Parents have ways of making together times, via pictures and skype, and heck when his dad went to the Philippines, we did letters (Before computers LOL) I told him I would knit something for the baby (I knit, it keeps me out of trouble, and I donate hats to the NICU that cared for my youngest when he was born early)
JB (My son) said that the sauce bottles are a quiet way of saying you messed up bad.What I DO like is that the yellers, are very much promoting this site, which is great, I heard about it from my little sister when her husband had joined the Navy and she knew I was bummed over my son doing it, honestly I think it was the best for him to do, and am glad he didnt join the MC... Then I would really be crying.

Bathan6-that is such a sweet and thoughtful thing to do. I have been a nurse for 30 years and have been in the NICU for the past 20 years. I liked it so much that I went back to school and have been a neonatal nurse practitioner for 5 years now. Thoughtful deeds like yours mean the world to these families. What a blessing you are to so many families!!

Would any of you ladies mind if I were to send a friend request? I feel like we are a "family" I guess that is one of the easier ways to say it, our kids/ loved ones are there learning how to be sailors and live as a family or brethren if you may, and we are trying to keep the home fires burning and keep sane. haha

Hey everyone...first let me say that I am so happy for everyone that the first letters and wonderful phone calls are coming. It is wonderful to hear all the news...it warms my heart.
I haven’t been online the past 24hrs....it’s been a whirlwind of emotions for me since yesterday evening.
We got our first letter yesterday. My husband called me at work. My husband said he would wait to open it until I got home so we could open it together. I was so happy...I rushed home after work. My SR didn’t write very much and what he did write was mostly about how much he missed us and being homesick. He said he was doing good with everything but is surprised by how hard the homesickness had hit him. He has gone on many church mission trips and other extended trips for other activities since he was a freshmen in high school...he really didn’t expect to feel so homesick. I was so happy to get the letter and see his writing but my heart ached for him. I was in a down mood the rest of the night....I know I should have gotten online for all of you wonderful support.....
And then today, we got the phone call. Luckily I had taken today off from work or I would have missed it. He called at 3:11 our time (west coast). We got to talk for 35 minutes...the best 35 minutes I've spent!!!!!
We told him we had just gotten his first letter yesterday. He immediately said...”sorry, Mom....I know it was pretty rough one...my next letters are better. He said everyday it’s get better and better...just a lot to adjust too. He said other than the homesickness, the roughest part up to now has been getting the division to work together....they have had IT’s everyday...and they are tough. He’s doing good with all the tests and inspections. He only talked specifically about the uniform inspections....he only had 1 hit. He said some SR’s got several hits. He also said, like many of you have said...that the division is slowly coming along.
He got his wisdom teeth pulled on Monday (guess the log we are following is a guideline....it say’s today is wisdom teeth). He’s pretty much recovered from that. He was in SIQ for two days, 1 day of lite duty and today back to full duty. He said they are doing some sort of weapons training next week...he is looking forward to that. Target shooting and guns in general are a hobby for him. He told us he will be singing in the choir for PIR....I am so happy about...he loves to sing.
So all in all, he is doing well.....and Mom is doing much better too!!!!
