My son shipped to GL on June 12th, 2012. He is in Ship 2 Division 939.  Was just wondering if any of your kids are in the same ship and division.....

Me!  :)

Cool.  Looks like we will be in this thing together.

I see you have both joined the group, PIR 08/10/2012; one of you may want to start a discussion within that group for that division.

Since your Recruits are in a performing division, you may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors.  There will be information on there that relates to your situation.  Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions:  The Requirements for the Navy RTC 900 Division

(Group names and the site name within this reply are clickable links.)

yes my daughter is! Hi how are you?

My son is in here too! No idea what he's doing though. I just heard this was a performance division. He was never in any band. Only took a guitar class when he was a senior in high school

There are 3 types of 900 divisions.  There are the Band/Bluejacket Choir/Drill team, otherwise known as Triple Threat (the musicians, singers, and drill team), the Sticks (those who carry the state flags), and the Ship Staff/Honor Guard (the body snatchers, those who guard various things...).  Three 900 divisions perform their duties at each PIR, the 900 division(s) from that TG and if needed one to three 900 divisions from the next one or two TG's.  Each 900 Division performs in their own PIR and in the PIR for one or two TGs ahead of their own.  They may also have performances in the community--that happens mainly for the Triple Threat though.

I believe that Division 939 is the Sticks.

YAY!!! Found my son's division.  My son is also Ship 2 Div 939!!  Spoke to my son last week.... he said they got in trouble because they can't march correctly... LOL ... Bad News Bears?

My son is in this division

My daughter is! Told her she would always be a band geek, we even joked about it before she left..

This discussion is from last year your SR is in Division 939 in this fiscal year, so your SR is not with theirs since they have Sailors now.

The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 939 is Triple Threat. Join the group, PIR 08/09/2013 TG 39 - 13 Divisions (287-298, and 939), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. There is a discussion within that group for Division 939.
