My son is in Division 937 and I am already so excited to attend PIR. Has anyone made their hotel reservations yet or am I the only one so anxious she did it BEFORE receiving the official letter?

So far I've only received the "I got here call" and "the box." Reminded me of birth -- naked they came into civilian life and naked they left it for the Navy :)

What a journey we are all on together!

UrabissWife;  I know what you mean about tone deaf...i'm right there with you.  My husband is very musically talented as well.  He's a drummer and has been in lots of bands over the years.  My son obviously inherited his talent from my husband...not me!

My son's rating's is an AD...Aviation Machinist Mate.

That's cool you get to stay on the base.  Will certainly make things easier.

I do recall reading about the IT our division was getting.  Like you said I hope that has settled down so we letters can start coming in.  Keeping good thoughts over  here in Calif.

oh boy i just looked at his paper work and he is an AD also :) lol he kept telling me aviation mechanic he left out the mate part. idk the difference. is he going to A school in florida also?

yea, Pensicola.  This is cool.  Feels kinda like some sort of connection!

i just read your comment most times i skip right to the last page :) i wonder if they know each other?? ill have to ask if he knows any other AD's :) thats so exciting!!!

Did you call Sarge? I understand he can sometimes arrange transportation, including picking people up from the airport.

UrabaissWife, I think you should call Sarge, too. Just see what he knows and can suggest. It sounds like he's a wonderful source of information. His phone number, email, meet and greet info is available at http://www.navyformoms.com/events/sarge-s-meet-and-greet-25

Sarge does get you from the airport and will take you to whatever hotel you need to go to.  I have talked with him.  He said he charges 94 bucks, thats to and from airport and to and from PIR.  I have never been to one, but he says its a lot cheaper than a taxi, and from what I have read he is.  I do have his number for anyone that wants it!!!  He sounds awesome.   I fly in on the 25th and will be staying at the Ramada.  Sarge also had other hotels that he mentioned that I didn't see online nor did the travel agent say a word about.  He is full of info~~he was for me.  Or I guess I should put my granny glasses on  lol go to that link above!!!!!  CANNOT wait to see my daughter.  I haven't gotten a phone call, although her boyfriend did~~go figure  haha.  I hope to get a letter this week!!!  I hope everyone has a great day, is keeping thier chins up~~~it won't be long until we get to see our kidos!!!!

thank you i will email him :) im phone shy. so i hope he reply's to me !

If I read right, and that's an if!!  Both Sarge and the Ramada meet and greets are the same night.  I think the times overlap.  I'm going to try and make both at some point.  My daughter is Ship12 Div 228.

I'm definitely planning to go to Sarge's meet and greet. Will have to see if I make it to another.

For those of you that were wondering about the Meet and Greet, I found these somewhere on here!!!

PIR 07/27/2012 Ramada Meet and Greet

July 26, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm – Ramada Waukegan and

SARGE'S MEET AND GREET

July 26, 2012 from 5:30pm to 9pm – SUNDANCE SALOON WAUKEGAN

Hi Lisa-I don't reply too much but I love reading everything I can...just like everyone else.  Unfortunately, we will not be in IL until approx 11 pm Thursday night...boo.  I would have loved the meet and greets!  We are all working Thursday and taking off around 5 pm.  It is about a 6 hour drive.

I have not received anything either other than 'the box' and 'the form letter'.  Every day after work I rush home to look in the mailbox!  I know, I know, no news is good news!  Yesterday I pulled into our driveway and on our deck stood our youngest daughter who had her hair pulled up.  (Looked like my daughter's hair that went in).  Scared the heck out of me!  I thought 'What is she doing home!'  I think my mind is playing tricks on me too!

LOL I hear ya,  It's crazy not knowing and wanting to hear so bad.  I call everyone by her first name~~even my grand babies lol she must be on my mind a lot.  I just want to make sure she is alright, getting enough rest, eating right and all that that we do as Moms!!!  I am so addicted to all these wonderful sites in hopes that I get new info, learn something new, meet new people, and esp try to see if there may be a picture somewhere of her!!  I try to keep busy too, knowing that it will make the time go by faster (whoever said that wasn't a mom!!!)  It won't be long I keep telling myself, and the people on these sites really help too!!!
