ok, so my son left only last Wednesday and it has been hard! I got the 20 second "I'm here" phone call that night around 9:30. I didn't have time to say anything to him except ok and I love you. This 9 weeks is going to be hard! How long before we get information from him so I can start writing to him? I miss seeing him everyday! Out of habit I keep checking my cellphone because he would always text me throughout the day and now....nothing! I hope he is doing okay there. I miss him!

My son left on the 20th, I feel exactly how you do, this is way harder than I thought it would be.  I think once I get a letter or a call from him, I might feel better, at least I hope so.  It's just so hard not being able to see how they are doing.

did you get his box yet?  I got his box the friday after he made it to Great Lakes & his 24 second call and then the form letter came a week later.  After you get your letter, it will have his graduation date on there and then you will be busy preparing for that day and where to stay if your going to stay overnight and the preparations for that helps you get through the tough times.  Needless to say, I have been addicted to this wonderful site and the mom's have been a Godsend.

My husband left 06/06 and when I got the first letter all my worry and anxiety left. It makes it alot easier once you start hearing from them.

My sin left 06/06/12 too, difficult day and days since. Got the call, received the box and official Navy letter; now waiting on a letter from him. Has anyone received anything? Ship 02,di 938

My son left 06/06 also. I received a very short letter, only one so far. I am anxiously waiting for another letter. Im not sure I will get one but hope so. Did you receive a letter yet?

My daughter left on 6/6 too.  I have not gotten a letter and never got a phone call that she arrived.  I ended calling the red cross on 6/9 and they gave me a number to the RTC.  I called the RTC on 6/11 and they informed me that she was there and nothing else.  I called the recruiting office on 6/15 and they were able to give me her address.  I have been sending her a letter or cards every week.  Now I'm reading the some families have rec'd letters so I'm hoping I get one too.  So like me, know in your heart your son is fine, trust that God has his heavenly angels watching over him.  That is the only thing that is getting me through each day until I see her on 8/3, which is her graduation.

Our son left 6/6 , arrived 6/7 at boot camp. PIR is 8/03. We haven't received a personal letter yet. From info I found in our PIR group, it looks like this coming Sunday will be the first day his division will have time to send mail, but we received the letter with his address Monday and started sending mail so hopefully he has received something from us. We are anxious to hear about his experiences.
