June 6

My son is in Division 937 and I am already so excited to attend PIR. Has anyone made their hotel reservations yet or am I the only one so anxious she did it BEFORE receiving the official letter?

So far I've only received the "I got here call" and "the box." Reminded me of birth -- naked they came into civilian life and naked they left it for the Navy :)

What a journey we are all on together!

do you know if our SR's will get to play in the band/choir for other grads? i've been looking on FB at the us navy training page and there are alot of pictures of basic. so far none of our division but i was looking at the PIR pics of recent grads i didn't see my hubby in them

I know the answer to this one! They will perform at PIR July 13, 20 and 27 so there is hope our SRs will be in the graduation photos!

I just realized that I may not have been putting Ship 02, I think I was putting Ship 2 - do you think that will make a difference - not having the zero in there??  I hope not - I've sent a lot of letters, as have my friends and family!!

Looking forward to watching for those photos...hoping for a glimpse, too!  30 days and counting - woohoo!

Where is everyone staying?  I booked a room at the Navy Lodge. :)

We're at the Navy Lodge, too, Karina! I bet addressing letters to ship 2 will work just as well as 02!

We're planning on getting there in time to go to Sarge's meet and greet on Thursday evening -- and maybe to the meet and greet at the Ramada Inn. I'm EXCITED!

We are staying at the Homewood Suites...it's about 10 miles from the Naval Station.  We needed a Suite...my SR's girlfriend is coming with our family and we thought it would be more appropriate for her and our daughter to have a separate room from my husband and I.   None of the hotels closer had availability....am continuing to call in case of cancellations.

We are planning to go to Sarge's meet and greet too but won't be there until 7ish...plane doesn't get in from California until 5ish....hope  you'll still be there.  I so looking forward to meeting you and all the others.  Just a few weeks away!!!!!

I'm SO looking forward to meeting you, too. What fun and a great reason to celebrate!

@OmahaRudy - That is great!  My best friend and I (she was there when my SR was born!) will be there and planning to go to the meet and greet at Sarge's, too!  I am sure we will see each other there :)  This is going to be so amazing!  I feel like I am wishing life away, but I am counting the days unitl 7/27!

I sure hope that addressing thing is not a problem...I would hate to have him not receive our letters.  On the plus side, nothing has been returned :)

I look forward to meeting you, Karina!

Me, too!  Been busy at work...just getting but wanted to say to everyone.  Nothing new to report...still just that one letter...I know he had sent two when we spoke a week and a half ago.  I would think more since then....mailbox empty :(  but 25 days to go!!  Wooohoooo!

Hello dear friends in division 937, Just got off the phone with my SR!! He earned a 10 minute phone call because he could fold his underwear correctly! It might have been a little more than that, but it makes a better story the way I tell it! He sounded SO good! He's gotten some sleep and he's healthy! Last Friday they did Marlinspike. He enjoyed that and they did well. Tomorrow is a big inspection -- the division will be doing small arms training while the inspection takes place.

You know what's really fun? The way he can see the point in why they do what they do!

They do love getting our letters and hearing what's going on at home.

I'll probably share a message very similar to this on our main PIR 7/27 group so if you think I'm repeating myself, you're right!

What a nice way to end the evening. here's hoping you get calls, too!

That is fabulous!!  I am so happy for you :)  That must have been a wonderful surprise, hon!!  And at least they are letting them get some rest and feeding them LOL  Sounds like a fun day for them today.  I have to ask, though...what is Marlinspike?  I keep waiting for more letters...still just the one...I hope he stopped sending them to my old address - forwarding takes sooo long and not all that reliable! :)  As long as he is getting mine...I write EVERY day LOL  Thanks for the update, that is wonderful news :)

Karina, take a look at http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir07272012/forum/topics/marlinespike. Start with the video and then look down through the photos.
