Has anyone stayed in the Ramada Inn or PIR. We booked there but after reading the reviews I am a little nervous. Most were not that good. Please let me know if you have and what your experience was

We just booked there as well for Aug 24th PIR. It is hard to know with online reviews. I will be interested to see what others have to say as well.
I will be there next week so I will post my experience to share with everyone
Please do that! We aren't in need of anything fancy, but safe is important.
The Ramada is in a not to safe area...I would not recommend you going out and about in that area at night with out someone else with you. Also there have been robbiers in that area, umong other things happening in that area.
After dark that area is off limits to Sailors. But no worries as your Sailor won't have overnight liberty anyways, if they are staying in great lakes for their follow on training they will be required to be back on base by a certain time.
The hotel is old, some of the rooms smell either of mold or of smoke (from when people where allowed to smoke in rooms). It is a cheap hotel...though I would rather pay the money for something a little nicer.
Booked at the same place. Should I cancell & book elsewhere?
We stayed there for my daughter's PIR back in Dec 2008. We didn't have any issues.
I just booked at the Ramanda. I hope I haven't made a mistake. Do I need to rethink my decision?
I just booked there for pir 9/14 but now have doubts. Any other recommendations?
It worked out fine for us....PIR was 12/5/08
Yes, I know, things can change. At the time, it worked out great. We arrived early, they let us have our room. We had ordered a double room and they gave us one with 3 q beds and a looong couch for the same price. They served breakfast earlier on PIR day. It had a large pool and hot tub. Direct and easy drive to graduation.
