OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Boyfriend left 6/25/12...need some support!!
Okay, so I'm brand new to this site and let me just say, it's comforting to know that others are going through the same thing I am. However, the pain is still here and I can't seem to escape from it. I've dated my boyfriend for almost 2 years, and we did have a break in that time frame. During that time is when he decided to sign up for the navy. Lets just say, I was devastated. I always told myself I wouldn't date someone in the military, now look at me. So like I said, he left on Monday the 25th, today is Saturday the 30th, and all I seem to know how to do is cry. He called me at 12:45 EST (so technically early, early Tuesday morning). It was a minute phone call and he said he would call me in 2 weeks, I hope that's true. I've already written him a letter, even sent him FB messages even though he wont get it for 8 weeks. I just feel horribly alone right now, and my biggest fear is that we are going to grow apart and he wont want me anymore. Thinking that upsets me more and brings on a waterfall of tears. These 2 weeks are going to be hard, since we can't have any calls or letters. I just wanted to hear other stories and if there is any advice y'all can give me. I'm trying to stay busy, but it doesn't seem to help. It seems like I think of him every minute of the day, and I just can't get him out of my head. I'm worried, scared, and I just want that feeling to end. I'm already picturing when he calls me and I feel like all I'll be able to do is cry because I've missed his voice so bad. But anyway, sorry for the rant. I just feel like I could meet others that understand what I'm going through. Anything will help!!!

My boyfriend left 7/2 and this first week went by so slow! We have been dating for over two years and have never gone a day without talking so this is definitely a huge change for me. His PIR is on a Friday as well, but 8/31. I got his address on Sunday but the form letter actually came on Saturday, his sister and I just didn't check the mail! I had been writing him every day like I promised and sent 7 letters yesterday, I hope he gets them soon!

Wow girl good job! Lol, he will love all the letters! I FINALLY got my first letters from him yesterday! I've already read them numerous times..it was a great feeling. I still haven't gotten a phone call yet, hopefully within the week I will hear something. Keep me updated when you hear something too!

I love writing him everyday, he told me to keep him updated on things I do everyday, especially when the summer Olympics start! I feel like it will be a lot to read all at once, but that is what he wanted and I'm sure he will get time throughout the week to hopefully read some. I also have a friend who left for boot camp 5 days before my boyfriend did and my other friend just got a letter from her yesterday! She has seen my boyfriend twice but has not been able to talk to him since they are in different divisions and have different PIR dates, she also told my friend to tell me that he looks like he is doing good so I should relax a little! It was dated July 5th, but I will definitely keep you updated when I get my first letter and/or phone call to me or his mom. I am close to his family which is nice while he is away because we stay updated on everything about him!
